Sentences-Simple Sentence
FACT/TIP:
A sentence is a group of words expressing a complete thought.
A simple sentence has one subject and one predicate.
Remember: The subject of the sentence is the telling part or the noun
part of the sentence. It also answers the questions who or what. The
predicate of the sentence is the doing part or the verb part of the
sentence.
PRACTICE EXAMPLES
1. They came by walking. (simple sentence)

Study the sentences below. Divide them into two parts using the
table.

2. The East Indians worked under the Indentureship system.
3. Newborn babies have the fastest heartbeat.
4. Blood is made up of a liquid called plasma.

VOCABULARY
Alphabetical Order 3rd Letter- Alphabetical order is also known as
ABC order. The word whose first letter appears in the alphabet
comes first in alphabetical order. If the first letters are the same, the
second letters are compared. This pattern continues if the third,
fourth or fifth letters are the same.

Arrange the words in each group in alphabetical order
Note: In the examples above the first 2 letters are the same so the
third letter was compared.
