Observational Guide:

1. Go around the Learning Resource Center.

2.See what learning resources are present.

5.Familiarize yourself with the guidelines and procedures. You may choose to take photos of
the center if allowed.

As I was observing the Technical Learning Center, the learning materials are well
arranged but some of it are not functioning. There’s a specific area for learning resources and
materials, so the teacher and students can easily find it. The arrangement of learning materials
like textbooks and visual resources are inside the cabinet, it is organized based on what types
and subjects belong. The learning resources such as computers, audio and projector can be
found at the back left side of the room. It has a good condition, clean and free from dust.
Computers were placed in low temperature, because hot temperature can cause it a damage.
The guidelines and procedures are posted in the wall and even in materials itself. It indicates
the availability and how to use the learning resources and ask their adviser to assist them from
using it.

My Analysis

1. Were the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their

functions and characteristics?

Yes, the learning materials and resources are well arranged based on their functions
and types or characteristics. Students can easily find and use it and it can be useful for
their learnings. Learning materials are clean and free from dust because it has a mini
cabinet where teacher hide it.
2. Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the
materials by the teachers? Why? Why not?

Yes, the guidelines and procedures are indicates on it. It would be easy for student to
use and access the learning resources. They can also ask their adviser to assist them
and if it not functioning. The guidelines and procedure are very useful for students as
well as for teacher.
3. What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

The strength of the Learning Resource Center is that it makes the learning more fun
and interesting. Students can learn very well because of the learning resources
provided by the Learning center. It would be easy for teacher as well to present her
lesson. The learning resources and materials are very useful in learning because it
boost the interest of the students as well as the learning process.

The weaknesses of it, the Learning Center room was not well ventilated and some of
learning materials are not functioning so it can’t be used for learning. Students needs a
good quality materials and resources for their learnings.
5. What suggestions can you make?

My suggestion, since some of their learning materials are not working, they should
repair it. They should also add some chairs and boost the speed of their internet
connection. The room is not well ventilated so they must provide a ventilator for their
students.

My Reflections

1. Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your interest the most?
Why?

The learning materials that caught my attention was their computers. It caught my
attention because aside from it is new, it is also a new version of apple computer, it so
beautiful and clean. I think student would be glad and enjoy when they used it.

2. Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?

I am confident to use and operate the computer, when I was in high school we have an
ICF subject where we study about computer and I learned a lot how to use and operate
it. I am also using my laptop in presenting my report in class. So I am confident in this
kind of learning material called computer.

3. Which ones do you feel you need to learn more about?

The materials that I need to learn more is projector. I am not really familiar how to
operate and use projector. I don’t know where I am going to put those wires, I always
ask my classmate or let my group mate to operate it every time we have a reporting.
Projector is always use especially in PROFED subjects and for Mrs. Estrella subject.

4. Read an article about answer in number 3. Paste a copy of the article here.

How to operate projector?

2. Connect the video cable (usually VGA) from your laptop’s external video port to the

projector, or to another sound system.
6. Sync the projector laptop by holding down the FUNCTION (Fn) key and pressing
one of the following keys to toggle: F4, F5, F7, F8.
(Note: Depending on your computer, you may have to use a different F key than
those listed above).
