INTRODUCTION
Article is to satisfy the needs of the inhabitants of the new venice, this is an island of more
than 3,000 people, the only means of transport is the boat; There are no health centers but
there is a great love for soccer which motivated them to build a floating soccer field. Venice,
a town of stilt houses built in the waters of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, the largest
lake complex in Colombia, which has a natural habitat of native and migratory birds, they
resist sinking in the pain of violence and see the best outing with tourism and fishing.
We carried out this work in order to analyze an article written by a Colombian author offered
by the EWA magazine where we analyze the situation of a people that is mired in poverty
and has had a situation of violence which we live in the newspaper in our country the
reflection we give is of a personal nature and with our own criteria.

Nueva Venecia is a town like many in Colombia where violence has been the protagonist, the
inhabitants of this place have been resilient people within the current circumstances, they
have been in charge of being protagonists wanting to get ahead especially forgetting those
painful passages where people at The margins of the law have tried to extinguish their dreams
and illusions by killing family and friends, in the community of Nueva Venecia they have
carried out different activities in order to continue with their lives and bring to their children,
children and adolescents the joy of being able to have a recreation healthy.
Government institutions must intervene by carrying out a decentralization where support and
reparation are provided to these people who despite their condition of poverty did not escape
the aforementioned episodes of violence, the people need urgent help to improve their
psychological emotions , moral, social and economic. In order that the children and
adolescents who live there improve in some way their quality of life, taking into account that

Conclusion
This island, despite being so poor, hit by violence and not having the support of the
government, is a people that wants to get ahead and show that despite the circumstances we
have to do everything we can to survive, fight for our families, continue to have dreams and
try to achieve them even in the adverse moments that arise in life.
There are episodes where our existence is complicated and many times we feel we lose all
hope but this article "a town in the water" has shown us that in the worst human conditions
instead of letting ourselves fall we have to get up every day to give everything for our
families to help to our communities which we have built and we do not want to disappear.
