REFLECTION ON BIAG NI LAM-ANG
Biag ni Lam-ang tells the epic narrative of the Ilocano people of the Philippines' Ilocos region. It was the first Philippine
folk epic to be written down, and together with the Bicolano epic of Handiong, it was one of only two folk epics documented
throughout the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines. A number of universal truths are reflected in the epic Biag ni Lam-
ang. These facts, in particular, show some Filipino attitudes, characteristics, and beliefs, notably among Ilocanos, who were
responsible for the development and popularization of this incredible epic.
First and foremost, the epic emphasizes the value of family. As he sought for his father, Lam Ang's devotion for his
family was unselfish. His leadership abilities were also demonstrated when he defended the inhabitants of Nalbuan against
Igorot annexation. The epic also stresses Lam Ang's competition with other suitors. When Lam Ang fell in love with Ines, he
fought and killed a number of monsters before confronting Sumarang, an ardent suitor of Ines. It's merely a representation of
how Filipinos battle for their love, going to great lengths to demonstrate our commitment. Finally, the Biag ni Lam Ang portrays
a genuine Iloco all about and to all Filipinos in a very wonderful way.
REFLECTION ON RAMAYANA
The Ramayana is regarded as one of the most ancient and revered books that symbolizes Indian culture. It also
represents the ideal way of life, with Lord Rama and Goddess Sita exemplifying perfection. The Ramayana's substance was a
fascinating read for me. Many outstanding instances of moral behavior can be found in the Ramayana.
The Ramayana, in my opinion, is a story about adventure and companionship, as well as psychological insight, spiritual
significance, and wisdom. It expresses the significance of existence, and how one should grow as a person by learning from its
meaning. It also discusses love and loyalty to the person you care about. Rama has a crush on Sita. And he became so devoted
to her that he promised to marry her only. He set an example for future generations of men in terms of what makes a sterling
trait for a man's social respectability. This narrative has really opened my eyes. If you don't give up, good things will come your
way. That's exactly what the story is trying to teach us. At first it was really hard for Rama and Sita, still they did not give up and
because of that, they lived happily ever after.
REFLECTION ON HINILAWOD
Hinilawod tells the story of three Sulodnon mythological being siblings, Labaw Donggon, Humadapnon, and
Dumalapdap, who lived in ancient Panay. We can see that this story isn't just a simple literary piece; it's also an informative
story about the old culture and beliefs of the people of Suyod, and it deals with the genuine meaning of finding love despite
hurdles.
It also shows how important dignity, love, and family care are in Philippine society. These are the essential values of the
Filipino people. Hinilawod also exhibits a strong sense of pride in their heritage and culture. They appreciate their forefathers'
traditions and continue to follow them in their daily lives. It demonstrates that the ancient Filipinos believed in anything "holy."
It depicts how people go about their daily lives and how their beliefs and practices are carried out. It provided me a sense of
what life was like before the time began, as well as what would happen if the time ran out. It vividly depicted Filipinos' rich past
and culture. It could have been because our culture was not emphasized as much as other nations' ancient ages, but it gave me
the impression that we Filipinos had something to be proud of, something that other nations don't have, something that is our
own unique identity.
