MAKING A GOOD COMMUNITY THROUGH

APPRECIATING DIFFERENCES

REQUIRED: Cycle End Reflection:

Instructions: Read the paragraph below and answer the three questions in your answer sheet. (20pts)

The two previous modules exposed the basic intricacies of a community. You have learned that
despite the apparent ordinariness of our community experience, the thought of community is a
complex one. Like the variations among the populace’s attitude and tendencies, the aspects of a
community are so varied. Hence, learning, more so governing it, requires fluency in these aspects.
However, the concept of the community nowadays expands as it now covers disembodied
relations found in social media. Through the ubiquity of social relations, an online community
emerges. (1) As a grade 12 student who recently learned about the traditional concept of
community, do you think the concepts you have learned in these two modules apply totally to
emerging online communities? (2) Can we argue that through online communities, the physical
community prospers? (3) What are the possible conflicts that online communities can pose to the
physical community we have as Filipinos?
