1. What is the message in the video?


The video shows us the great power of being literate. As shown in the video, it is
portrayed that a father idolizes a man who published many books and then at the very
end of the short video it was revealed that it was his son who was the famous author
which is ironic because the father is illiterate but it didn't stop him to learn and acquire
knowledge. Through small consistent steps he made progress and slowly learned how
to read and write. It also gives big impact to his life because from then on, he
communicates and express himself better.

2. What is Literacy?
Basically, literacy means the ability to read and read but little do people know that
literacy is not only limited to that definition but it is also the ability of a person to have
competence in a specific area of life.

3. What Literacy Skill is being portrayed in the video?


It was information literacy that was portrayed in the video since the skill was acquired
through learning and processing information.

4. How does Literacy help him?


If the man wasn’t diligent enough to become literate, he wouldn't have appreciated his
sons work and talent. Being literate has also helped him to become to socialize way
better and he express his love towards his wife better.

1. What are the differences of the three categories?
When we talk about media it is a collective term for the different mediums used for
mass communication whether through the form of news, social media apps or radio
broadcasting while information is the facts, knowledge or ideas that we learned
through education, researching or personal experiences and technology are equipment
or machinery that are made through the process of applying scientific knowledge.

2. What are their similarities?


Although the three categories are quite different from each other but these things also
has some things that are common. Media, information and technology has helped
people to make everyday life easier, they also help people to communicate, acquire
new knowledge and be entertained.

3. In your own words, define the following:


▪ Media Literacy
It is the ability to understand and use the different mediums of mass communication. It
is aware of the responsibilities of being a media creator and consumer.

▪ Information Literacy
It is the skill of acquiring, analyzing and processing information. It deals with
knowledge and how well do we use our knowledge on our everyday life.

▪ Technology Literacy
This form of literacy primarily focused on the ability of a person to use and understand
technology. Most of the time it is used interchangeably with digital literacy or the
ability of someone to be well-versed in computers and other gadgets.

The questions were great pre-activity for the brain of a journalist for I was able to have
