more these days. Many young people ,especially teenagers, spend
long hours surfing the net and chatting with their friends.
However, is this new technology a positive or a negative thing in
general?
There are several arguments in support of the Internet. Firstly,
chat rooms and e-mails are good ways to meet new people and
keep in touch with your friends and acquaintances. Secondly,
educational sites provide useful information for school projects.
However, there are also arguments against the Internet. Some
sites are unsuitable for children and although chat rooms might be
fun, you don’t really know who you are talking to.
To conclude, the Internet has both advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand there are lots of useful websites, but on the other
hand, young people need to choose the websites they visit
carefully.
In my opinion it is the parents´ job to keep an eye on the sort of
web pages that their children visit regularly.
