1.1 Background of The Study
Recently, COVID-19 has become a deadly global problem. Governments across the
world are required to intervene to slow the virus spread. Social distancing is one of the policies.
This strategy has closed schools, offices, visitor destinations and even public transit permanently.
Many businesses have adopted the rules of government to operate at home. Until now, however
the impact of homework on employee results is uncertain (Allen, Golden & Shockley, 2015),
causing a void in science. Researchers also proposed that staff should function at home using
communication video conference platforms. They should feel protected from the possibility of
the coronavirus. Home-based employment helps staff to render meetings and execution
instructions more flexible. In comparison, they don't have to waste time or resources on driving.
Employees operating at home also expanded their control. This applies to the degree to which a
task makes it possible to determine how to finish the function. Another benefits of operating at
home is that workers may change or choose their own places of employment. Allen, Golden &
Shockley (2015) claim that telecommuting performs best whether the job is mobile or internet.
The characteristics of the work itself thus significantly influence job output in a telecommuting
environment. Researchers like Madell (2019), however, claimed that homework has
inconveniences – such as the absence of oversight – as well as the possibility of
miscommunication. Another inconvenience is because it does not literally distinguish
employment from personal time and finally home may be a dull work setting. These drawbacks
may contribute to dissatisfaction influencing employment satisfaction, and the lack of
satisfaction may lead to poorer employee results, as measured in the main performance metrics
of the business. In general employee results play an important role in the growth of a business,
and an employee who is pleased with his job performs better than an employee who is not
satisfied (Khan et al., 2019). The conversation at home is still connected to electronic
correspondence.
