INTRODUCTION
Every one of us wants to live in peace where we can have a normal life, living
with families happily together, travel there, travel everywhere, our parents working
and we are studying. But due to global warming, calamities and disasters we can
see a huge difference in the increase of the affected ones during the appearance of
typhoons resulting to floods, earthquakes, volcanic reactions and the one that we are
currently experiencing right now, the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
pandemic.
Being a concerned citizen and a student of this generation, I aim to help in my
own little way to give my fellow people of my beloved community a knowledge and
an assurance to be ready in case we face a disaster. With the help of our Barangay
Officials and some Community Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officials
and Personnel, I’m planning to have a disaster management training and seminar in
our locality. The purpose of this program is not only for people to have knowledge of
what to do before, during and after a certain disaster but also to know where should
they evacuate and who to call for rescues.
This program aims to remind people that we should take good care of our
natural environment because we already know what consequences we might
experience in the near future. I know that I am just a child, a mere young lady of my
locality but a simple program like this can inspire other people to come up with their
own ways and ideas to help each other in times of crisis. We need encourage more
volunteers to cover up resources and distributing relief goods for evacuees.

BACKGROUND OR RATIONALE
These past few years the Philippines were being visited by numerous
typhoons, strong typhoons that leaves a huge destruction in places where it passes
by. In our place, Typhoon Dante brought heavy rains resulting to flooding in lowland
areas, riverside and sea sides, it also cut down some trees.
By having the disaster management training and seminar, we can raise
awareness to the society on how to act and behave before, during and after a certain
disaster pass by.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Objectives
Below are the objectives of our program:
a. To raise people’s awareness about what are disasters and what are its
effect to the society;

Disaster Management Training and Seminar

and questions of the participants. Through the help of our sponsors and Odiongan’s
Local Government Office, we will give the participants some products and basic
equipment they can use in everyday living.

PROJECT NEEDS AND COST

For this program to be successful, I need sponsors to fund this seminars and
programs, an amount that will range from ₱ 10, 000 - ₱ 15,000. Also, a location to be
used for the said training seminar that I believe the barangay and LGU will provide
us one, spaces such as basketball court and a projector with a white screen for the
