Your LMN company’s logistics service provider ABC Ltd has delayed a shipment by
a fortnight for which your company had to incur heavy losses. As the head of the
Organization you take a decision against the delay. So write and communicate the
decision you have taken regarding this delay.
Dear Sir,
I hope this finds you well in these uncertain times.
This is concerning the delay involved with the order of shipment no. 14 placed with
your organization. While we accept that due to the ongoing uncertainty due to the
pandemic is bound to impact your supply chain, the delay of a shipment by a
fortnight is unacceptable to us. As per our previous conversation wherein you had
requested greater flexibility in the processing of orders, we had come to the
conclusion that we may expect a delay of up to 5 days. Hence, on the lapse of the
5 day timeline, we proceeded to give you the benefit of the doubt, given our
longstanding association, and tried to be flexible and absorb the losses in a 10 day
period.
However, given the delay off an additional 5 days, we feel that the losses incurred
are too heavy to be absorbed within the organization. We, therefore, shall be
deducting the compensation due the delay as per our agreement. Kindly look into
the matter and resolve the issue at the earliest.
You are requested to arrive at a solution and reasoning behind this and inform us
on the steps that will be taken to mitigate such delays in the future. In the event
that the solution is unacceptable to us we shall be forced to terminate the
agreement and look for other avenues.
We look forward to hearing from you.
