B. Check Your Understanding
1. Are we pushing the responsibility for our existence on to society, instead of
facing the questions of who we are? Explain.
People nowadays are pretty much busy in doing things that are good for passing
time. We could often forget to spend sometime to find who we are. We often let our
society take the responsibility for our existence. Instead of answering it on our own,
most people rely on what society regards as who we are.

2. Based on the eightfold path, which is most important for you to cultivate in
your life at present?
Through the Noble Eightfold Path, we can overcome our "Ego," feel greater
harmony with the world around us and eliminate the pain we experience. Every single
one of this paths are very important to cultivate. Yet for me, the most important to
cultivate for myself at this moment is the right concentration.
The reason why I have chosen the right concentration is because it is very crucial
for myself. I have the lack of concentration in almost everything that I’m doing. My
thought would go everywhere once it has been disturbed for even the slightest. I cant
concentrate and is unable to do thing properly sometimes because of not having the
correct train of thought in what I’m doing.

3. How can faith be translated into action?

Faith can be translated into actions by being morally and emotionally affected by
your faith to something that is very important to you. For example, being a religious
being we translate our faith to God into actions through doing what is good and just.

4. How do you view suffering (as a blessing or a curse)?

Suffering for some people maybe a cure rather than a blessing but for me it is the
other way. Suffering for me is a blessing we suffer because of we might have done
something that would offend somebody and what I have done might have been not the
correct thing to do. I believe that since I have suffered then I can be enlightened and
repent for what I have done and that makes us a fine and wise human being.

5. How can we live a chaste life? How can we practice control?

As a Christian, in order to live a chaste life it is to follow whom I believe God is
and it is Jesus. If I follow Jesus then it means I am following the will of God and by
doing so I am leading my life to have a chaste life. By constantly following Jesus is
also very difficult that is why we have to pray and go to church to stay in track in the
God’s Guidance.

6. How can our attachment to, or craving for worldly pleasures cause suffering?
Cite examples.
The world is filled with people seeking for worldly pleasures. Endlessly seeking
for things that can satisfy their unending pursuit of satisfaction. That is where craving
for worldly pleasure starts to cause suffering. Being unsatisfied of what we currently
have because of our craving for something better would cause us troubles and
suffering. We would do everything that we could just to get what we desire to have
and behind all that we have done comes with great suffering.

7. Explain: “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without
faith, no explanation is possible.”—St. Thomas Aquinas
If a person has faith not having a single explanation would be enough. If you
have faith in yourself, God, and other people then you could understand everything
within the speed of
light.Without any second thoughts or without any worries if it is real or not, Faith fills
everyone's mind with enough understanding for us to feel satisfied with every explana
tion.
