Alipio - Reflection

The document discusses the importance of technology in English language education from the perspective of a future English teacher. It argues that technology is a vital educational tool that can enhance language learning. As education and learner perceptions change with modernization, the future teacher must adapt their roles and utilize technology to move learning beyond the classroom. Employing technology can create a more student-centered learning environment with meaningful tasks that develop learner independence and responsibility. While traditional teaching methods are insufficient, technology boosts motivation and allows for higher-order thinking when incorporated into the learning process. Reflection

Language is among the most important factors influencing communication functions. For fluency
and communication, learners use various aspects of English language skills like listening, speaking,
reading, and writing. The approach that educators utilize to enhance language learning is an essential
component for learning. Technology is  considered as a vital educational tool in English
classrooms where instructors hold easy access, are adequately ready, and get some curriculum
autonomy.  I, as a future educator, agree that technology is an important aspect in ensuring a high-
quality education.

The major reforms of modernization and technological progress will undoubtedly prompt me, as
a future teacher, to grapple with the shift in learner perceptions and to reconsider my roles in light of
the vast emphasis put on the use of technology in English language instruction. The utilization of
technology would then assist me as a learner and a future English teacher in moving beyond the walls of
the classrooms because learning can occur at any location and at any time. I've as well realized that
teaching is not just an art form but also science, and I must recognize that the demands on the teaching
field have expanded, necessitating the need for me, to be innovative, evaluative, technologically
inclined, and a natural learner.

Employing technology to create a learning environment concentrated on the student instead of

the teacher can result in positive changes. By  utilizing technology, language class becomes an engaged
environment full of meaningful tasks in which the students are responsible for their own learning. The
incorporation of technology into language classes signifies an authentic educational opportunity that
increases learners' responsibilities. Technology empowers students to learn independently and to
develop sense of responsibility and the ability to use technology independently equips students with
self-direction.

In addition, I believe that chalk-and-talk teaching method is insufficient for efficiently teaching

English as fundamental advances have happened in classrooms. Students learn how to learn efficiently
in a well-planned class environment. A technology-enhanced teaching environment outperforms a
lecture-based class. Considering these, I must look for ways to apply technology as a valuable learning
tool for my students, even if they haven't learned it and can't use it like a tech expert.

Furthermore, the use of the internet boosts learners' motivation. I believe that the use of film in
the classroom encourages students to become enthusiastic about the subject matter and to expand
their knowledge. Students can learn more effectively when technology is incorporated in the learning
process. When students use technology to learn, it enables them to develop higher order thinking skills.
It is reasonable to assert that an accurate blend of digital media and instructional methods is critical for
attracting learners' focus to learning English.

Technology indeed allows teachers and students to interact, provides coherent input and
output, assists students in developing cognitive skills, allows the teaching and learning process to
be more learner-centered, fosters students' autonomy and confidence, and boosts learners' creativity to
productively learn a foreign language, specifically the English language. As a future English teacher, I will
encourage my students to use technology to improve their language skills because I believe that  it plays
an important role in cultivating their ingenuity and providing them with fascinating, pleasurable, and
thrilling ways to learn the language.
