they function to mitigate the risks and hazards of familiarizing and applying the
technology and its future design for the future use in risk mitigation and prevention.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective is to apply and harness modern technology and introduce this
development to the students. This facility is installed in the work environment for the
safety and comfort of the stakeholders of the establishment.

To understand and familiarize on modern technology such as smart design and

system that help keeps the establishment safe for its stakeholder and occupants.

LESSON 1: WHAT IS SMART DESIGN?

Technology and establishment are becoming more complex. Smart Design

humanizes/customize every establishment, products, and services from human
experiences through insights, design strategies, and research.

It is described as smart buildings or intelligent buildings; these buildings of the future

are any structures that hold integrated processes or smart/creative design to self-
regulate the establishment and operations to a human-centered approach.

Smart design

Example:

Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Systems, Part of Indoor Air Quality

Design (HVAC) system
HVAC SYSTEM (FACILITY) it is important to regulate the temperature inside the
establishment through countries that have different climatic conditions. This system
is a complex design to self-regulate the inside temperature of an establishment,
according to the occupant's comforts.

It has control over:

temperature control needs

energy efficiency
humidity control
potential for natural ventilation
adherence to codes and standards
outdoor air quantity and quality
indoor air quality
automated window, ventilation, and exhaust control

LESSON 2: FLOOR PLAN, FIRE EXITS, ENTRANCE

Floor plan

The floor plan is a drawing to scale, illustrating a view from above, in relationships
through specific spaces, human, traffic patterns, doors, and other physical
structures. This includes dimensions to scale fixtures and furniture.

Floor plan and fire escape plan

Entrance and Fire exits

http://silverbeardesign.com/gallery/nhs-wayfinding1-5x

The entrance is a doorway fronting on or giving direct access to an establishment

from a street or road.

Fire exits

This is a route/doorway that is systematic, included/Layout for emergency purposes

is used to let people out of an establishment on an event of a fire.

LESSON 2: TIME MOTION STUDY AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR SIMULATOR

Time motion study and fire dynamics simulator

Time-and-motion study is a study to evaluate and analyze motion/ performance,

individuals on time spent in doing through the different series of jobs. time-and-
motion studies were first instituted in offices and factories in the United States in the
early 20th century.

(Fire Dynamics Simulator) is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of fire-

driven fluid flow.

The software create and resolve a form of appropriate equations numerically for low-
speed, thermally-driven flow, with an emphasis on smoke and heat transport from
fires (national institute of standard and technology, November 20, 2019)

Human behavior simulation helps participants conduct the observation and

experimentation process to analyze and evaluate to determine the solutions and
design for a particular event. The main purpose is to create an illustration of an
analytic and observable representation of virtual evacuees, their manipulative
parameters, and an integrated system between human behavior simulation and
Building Information Modeling (BIM). (hong, October 24, 2018)

LESSON 3: ELECTRIC SWITCH, WIRING, BREAKER, AND FUSE

Electric wiring layout and main switch/ breaker and fuse.

A complex diagram/Layout of wire that illustrate or a visual representation of

physical connections and physical layout (floor plan) of an electrical circuit/system
illustrates how the electrical wires are laid and interconnected the rooms, porches,
garages, outbuildings, fixtures, and components.
Ceiling design Ceiling layout

Panel board unlabeled panel board expose wiring

Existing electrical panel labels: if the main electrical panel already has some labels by
fuses or switches (as it should), you may see labels indicating "Sub," "Sub Panel," or
naming another building area that was perhaps an addition like "Den" or naming an
outbuilding like "Garage.
labeled wiring

The Main switch/breaker or panel board

is an electrical panel containing switches and fuses or circuit breakers controlling branch
circuits such floors rooms as facilities, utilities, and motors. It is enclosed in a metal cabinet
and usually placed in or against a wall.

Panels should be maintained with a licensed professional and labeled regarding

designation.

Example:
Central air conditioning & heat pumps
Electric water heater
Electric laundry, clothes dryer
Electric oven or stove
Electric heaters and backup electric heat for heat pump systems
Steam bath, electric steam generator
Series of motors for a specific group

LESSON 4: EQUIPMENT WITH FIRE PREVENTION, SMART SENSOR, CCTV

SECURITY, ELECTRICAL ISO CERTIFIED

Electrical and ISO certified

ISO standards are internationally agreed-upon wit the council of experts. To create or
device a better way of doing something. It could be about a product, managing process,
supplying materials, or delivering service standards cover a huge range of classifications or
activities.

Smart sensor, CCTV, and security.

A smart sensor is a device that takes input from the establishment and uses built-in
complex functions upon detection of specific input and then processes data and automated
collection. These are used for monitoring and control mechanisms in a wide variety of
applications, including security.

Closed-circuit television

Example: motion detector.

Closed-circuit television,
It is a system that gives access to monitor what's going on in and around your business.
Cameras and monitors enable you to view events live, and recorders archive footage for
later reference. The footage from security cameras can broadcast through internet
channels. An integrated element of the Internet of Things (LoT)

What is a fire prevention system? Sprinkler (dry and wet chemicals)

LESSON 5: WHAT IS FIRE PREVENTION SYSTEM? SPRINKLER DRY AND WET

CHEMICALS

What is a fire prevention system?

A smoke detector is a device that automatically detects smoke and gives a warning of the
stakeholder of the establishment.
Sprinkler

A series of overhead pipe systems purposely to protect a building against fire utilizing
extinguishing by a fluid such as water and also dry chemicals it is heat/ smoke activated
from a sensor.

Smoke detector

Sprinkler system
(Wet and dry chemicals)
Wet pipe systems are the most common/ simplest type of fire sprinkler system; they are
very reliable and require less installation and maintenance. Cons. It is inappropriate to
install in offices heavy with electronics and important documents.

Dry fire sprinkler systems, on the other hand, contain pressurized air or nitrogen. The
pressurized air or co2 when a fire occurs and the sprinkler activates, the purpose is to cut
the supply of oxygen to extinguish the fire cons. has some health hazards that can result in
shortness in breathing.

Liquid sprinkler Dry chemicals
