1. According to the author, what characteristics of Vivaldi’s violin concertos influenced


the development of Bach’s “musical thinking”?

- The characteristics of Vivaldi’s violin concerto influenced the development


of Bach’s “musical thinking” is Bach began feel that the eternal led to
nothing that must be order, c connection and the that to attain such
objectives, some kind of guide was necessary. And the Vivaldi’s Concertos
for the violin, with were then just published, served such as a guide he also
often heard them praised admirable compositions and than he conceived
the happy idea of arranging them for the clavier studies the chain of ideas
their relation to each other, the variation of the modulation and many more
aspect of these concertos.

2. After listening to the recordings, what similarities do you notice between Vivaldi’s
original concerto and Bach’s transcription?

- In Vivaldi’s original concerto when the ritornello melodic line come to play
together in tutti and after the ritornello followed by group of soloist and
concerns the sequence the two opening measures establish especially and
in this piece when Vivaldi play in tutti Bach use all of part play in 2 hands
and when Vivaldi play by soloist or group of soloist Bach only used in 2 part
for imitate the texture and dynamic of music

3. Other than the obvious difference of instruments, in what ways do you think Bach’s
transcription sounds difference of instruments from Vivaldi’s original concerto
however?

- Bach add the counterpoint lines more than the Vivaldi original concerto and
when after the ritornello for the soloist or the group of soloist play Bach add
more sequence more modulation more ornament, more bars lines longest
duration time before than return to the ritornello

4. Finally, listen to a recording of Bach’s own Violin Concerto BWV 1041, which he
composed around 1730. In what ways does it seem to be influenced by Vivaldi’s
music? In what ways does it sound different from Vivaldi’s style however? (Please
be as specific as possible.)

- In the first similar ways is the ritornello and motive harmonic and melodic
line so many clear and after the melodic lines followed by turning melodic
lines in the second the texture of this piece more like the Vivaldi’s concerto
at the ritornello are come in the same but some place is not together
because the soloist play at the others melodic lines and Bach musical style
have develop the musical idea in the ways of music by add on ornament
but in Vivaldi’s concerto piece only change the harmony and key of the
ritornello and the Bach’s concerto piece are many counterpoint so much
and clear to make everything sound more polyphonic than Vivaldi
