Inspection Report: 2016090000673881 Insp - Id

The USDA inspection report found several issues at the animal facility: 1) Records were incomplete for a wallaby and sloth and did not document acquisition. The facility also exhibited a serval without providing records to the USDA. 2) In 2020, a tiger cub was exhibited at a park where the public could directly handle and pet the unleashed cub without barriers. 3) Housing for the sloth and wallaby had safety hazards like exposed electrical wires that could injure the animals. The wallaby enclosure fences were too short. 4) The sloth enclosure area had clutter that did not pertain to the animal's care. The licensee was instructed to correct these

Inspection Report

In Aug. 2020, the licensee took a tiger cub, that according to records provided by the licensee was approximately 6 weeks

old, to a park where the public had direct contact to handle and pet the cub. The licensee did not restrict access to the

unleashed cub and did not maintain a barrier, allowing the cub to walk among the crowd.

During public exhibition, the licensee must ensure that any animal must be handled so there is minimum risk to the animal

and public, with sufficient distance and/or barriers between the animal and the public.

Correct from this day forward 6/9/2021

Facilities, general.
Facilities General 3.125 a Repeat

At the time of inspection, the licensee is housing a sloth in an enclosure in a garage. Hanging from the ceiling in the

interior of the sloth enclosure, is a light fixture and on the floor of the interior is a portable electric humidifier with the cord

exposed. The sloth has access to the exposed light and the humidifier, which could injure the animal by burning, broken

glass, or electrical shock. The sloth’s enclosure is covered by a fabric tarp, which is a potential fire hazard as the

humidifier and the light fixture have exposed electrical wires. The licensee must ensure that housing facilities are

maintained in good repair to protect the animal from injury.

3.127(d) Repeat
Facilities, outdoor.
Item 3.127 (d) Repeat

At the time of inspection, the wallaby was housed in an outdoor enclosure. The fences on two sides of the enclosure are 6

ft high, however the back fence is only 39 inches high. There is not a perimeter fence of sufficient height that functions as

a secondary containment system to prevent the wallaby from escaping.

space surrounding the enclosure and do not pertain to the animal or its care. Premises shall be kept clean and in good

repair to protect the animals and to facilitate the prescribed husbandry standards.
