Classification of Esp

This document discusses classifications of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). It identifies two main ways ESP can be classified: 1) based on where learners require it, such as for academic study or work situations, and 2) by professional area, such as English for academic purposes (EAP) or English for occupational purposes (EOP). ESP focuses on the specific language needs of learners based on their profession or field of study. It aims to teach the appropriate vocabulary, language functions, and skills required for their work or academic requirements.
