Task Sheet 1.1 Nature and Scope of TNA
The training needs analysis is the way to determine or validate the performance issue of an
organization, and that the performance issue can be resolved by means of learning or training. It
is also a proper way of determining the accurate situation of the organizations performance and
how to identify which methods are needed for the achievement of the goal. Conducting TNA
also helps determine the gap for the present situation and the desired situation of the
organization, so that it can develop the proper training needs.
2. Why do we conduct TNA?
We conduct TNA to ensure that each member of an organization has the right knowledge and
skill and will make them perform their job properly. First thing to do in conduction TNA is to
determine the desired level of performance, compare the level current performance and to the
performance they should be doing. Identify the things we want the members of an organization
needs to do and make it answerable to their job description to achieve the common goal of an
organization. Part of conducting the TNA is to determine the current level of performance by
means of actual data gathering and observations. It is also a way of identifying performance gap,
why there is a gap and if that gap is cause by a lack of skill of knowledge. And finally, it is a
proper way of presenting the data to your current stakeholders for analysis and determining the
proper way of making the situation work better for the organization.
3. Who are the stakeholders?
The stakeholders are any individual, group or companies that shows interest on what your
company can contribute to each individual or group. For example, in our institution common
examples of stakeholders are us employees, students, suppliers of materials, sponsors etc. They
are very crucial in the base for creating the company’s vision and achievement of the company’s
goal.
4. How was TNA steps summarized in the Video?
The TNA summarized in this video properly explains the definition of the TNA. It also explains,
why there is a need for an individual or company to properly identify the purpose of TNA. In
addition, it also helps you understand the basic steps of conducting an effective TNA.
5. What is your take away learning from this?
My take away learning is this, TNA is an effective way of making an individual, groups,
organization and company perform at their very best and most effective way of identifying
problems and making solution. TNA also teaches me on how to properly gather information and
data, use it in a step-by-step procedure to give solution to a certain problem. It also teaches me
on how to properly collaborate with our current stakeholders and make our bond and
commitment with each other organize and effective.
