The earth has many changes that have occurred in the past and some that are going to transpire
in the future. "Climate Change" has become the trendier term among researchers and policy makers.
While the globe is becoming hotter on average, this temperature increase can have paradoxical effects,
Scientists agree that the earth’s rising temperatures are fueling longer and hotter heat waves, more
frequent droughts, heavier rainfall, and more powerful hurricanes. But the real question now is how we
can solve climate change? So, yes, the Earth will heal itself, but not in time for our cultural institutions to
be preserved as they are. Therefore, in our own self-interests, we must act in one way or another to
deal with the changes in climate we are causing.
The CAGASAT National High School faculty and staff headed by our passionate and dedicated
Principal III, Madam Sally J. Florentin, together with the support of the school general PTA officers and
the barangay officials of barangay Gayong, conducted a Tree planting activity to help mitigate the effects
of climate change.
Tree planting is the process of transplanting tree seedlings, generally for forestry, land
reclamation, or landscaping purposes. The tree planting activity is not just a simple tree planting, but it is
an awareness campaign of the effects of climate change in the community. As a start, we planted almost
60 seedlings of Mahogany trees at the agricultural farm lot of the school located at Purok-7 Gayong,
Cordon, Isabela.
Planting trees is very essential because it is considered to be the lungs of the earth since it
collects carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and provides the fresh air we breathe.
