What’s New
1. Erosion or landslide
2. Due to heavy rain or deforestation
3. Report it to the authority and immediately evacuate if near the area.
What’s more
Activity 2
1. I think it’s landslide because we are prone to heavy rains caused by the typhoons.
2. The cause would be deforestation and the construction of new buildings.
3. None.
4. The gradual erosion of the land and deforestation.
Activity 3
1. I’m thinking about the causes of landslide so we can mitigate the risks and prevent it
from happening. I an also thinking about conducting a tree planting activity.
2. I’m wondering what if a landslide happens in our community? Are we ready or not? Are
we prepared for the underlying risks and hazards?
3. I’m noticing that in our community, there was no event like landslide. Despite, people
should still be mindful of their actions since human activities can cause landslide.
4. It reminds me of the typhoon Ulysses. Due to heavy rains and strong wind, a landslide
occurred in northern parts of Cagayan.
5. I’m feeling grateful since we haven’t experienced landslide and we are not prone to it.
Nevertheless, I am sad because several families in Cagayan experienced it and the
children witnessed such a tragic and horrible event.

Additional Activities
1. Yes, sinkholes are extremely dangerous, and have resulted in many deaths and injuries
over the years. They can appear out of nowhere and catch people off guard, and they are
difficult to anticipate. That is why it is important to know what causes sinkholes and what
makes them so dangerous. We'll go over why you should be cautious about sinkholes, as
well as the various events that can cause them to open up.
2. No, because geologically speaking, sinkholes are dangerous in nature. It causes deaths
and injuries. In the article written by rexlimlim52, the cave is made up of limestone,
which is a soluble type of rock and one of the primary causes of sinkholes. The bedrock
of the cave seems to dissolve gradually as time passes by.
3. No, there is none. The risks and danger of sinkholes outweigh the benefits of it (I believe
there isn’t).
4. To lessen the impact of sinkholes, humans should be more cautious and mindful of their
actions since their activities contribute to the emergence of sinkholes. In order to have a
safe place or location for our house, we should request a soil inspection or simply a soil
test to determine if the location is safe and not prone to sinkholes.
