Online learning is the newest and most popular form of distance education
CLASS
today. However, online learning is just one type of “distance learning” - the umbrella
term for any learning that takes place across distance and not in a traditional
classroom.

The online teacher emphasizes an interactive learning environment, designed to

stimulate dialogue between teacher and students and among students themselves.
The online process requires both teacher and students to take active roles. The teacher
will often act as a facilitator, organizing activities that engage students directly rather
than relying too heavily on lectures and memorization.

El Pardo Elementary School caters online learning to students who were capable
and can attend the scheduled time for online classes. At first parents were given an
overview on how the online classes will be conducted. They were thought on how to
use the online platform for them to help facilitate their children, well. All the
involved parents are asked to try the online platform.

Our online class follows the different activities conducted in the face to face set up, such as
follows:
a. Opening Prayer
b. Philippine National Anthem
c. Sugbo Hymn
d. Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat/ Panatang Makabayan
e. Energizer
f. Checking of attendance
The above-mentioned activities were followed every day. After the orientation of
the parents, we conducted a 20-minute meet and greet for the students to build their
confidence before we started the regular online class.

Our online classes was then successful but due to the internet connection
problem in our place, limited access and class time was done by the end of the First
Quarter. We really enjoyed the class specially during performances. It was difficult at
first but at the end of the class, both parties learned from each other and shared new
knowledge and ideas. We are very much thankful that we still managed to share our
expertise to our learners by conducting online classes, which is one way of adopting to
the New Normal Education.
