COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In this course, you will learn the basic skills required by the electrical engineers. The course
is designed to let student acquire the knowledge of engineering mechanics and
thermodynamics. Initially, you will learn the basic safety and health regulations. Although
most of the topics like vectors, scalars, Newton’s laws, momentum, etc would be covered
but more emphasis would be given on stress, strain and their application, fly wheel, bearing
and coupling and their applications. Laws of thermodynamics would be studied in detail.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The students should be able to:

 Understand the basic safety regulations


 Get knowledge of Engineering Mechanics and thermodynamics
 Understand the Laws of Thermodynamics
 Should be able to implement this knowledge in practical life

TEACHING METHOD:
Course will be conducted on the lecture based discussion models along with group
discussions, homework assignments, Tutorials, quizzes, midterms and finals.

The final grades will be determined by this weighting:
