II. RATIONALE
Tress are essential to our world and offer a wide range of benefits to our environment.
The benefits from the tree spread far beyond villages to our homes in cities, school and
communities as well. Tree increase our quality of life by bringing natural elements and wild
habitats into urban settings.
In the effort to preserve, conserve and protect Mother Nature, and ultimately the Earth,
the BSP Bukidnon chapter came up to the idea of conducting a simultaneous tree caring,
growing and planting activity. Tree planting is the most relevant and the most effective way
to do it. With tree planting, even a small effort makes huge differences in leaving an on-
going environmental legacy in life. As a result of participating in this activity, the troop
leader and more importantly the scout member can achieve a sense of satisfaction and
accomplishment especially in this time of pandemic. Moreover, the leader and the member
become more ecologically aware on the things they need to notice the world around.
With the aforementioned statements, the schools BSP coordinator is motivated to
conduct a two-hour going green project with the theme “SIMULTANEOUS TREE CARING,
GROWING AND PLANTING.” Among scout leaders and members of the school. This is an
environmental educational project. By doing this activity the BSP members and participants
will discover awareness on the importance of tree planting, and establish a connection to
the nature and while learning what they can contribute to save the future. Thus, like tree
freshly planted their work will pay forward the investment for years to come. Furthermore,
this activity is also our way of addressing disaster risk reduction and mitigating the effects of
climate chance.
