We use the present continous to show that something is happening now or for
a limited time
Examples:
He’s talking on the phone( it’s happening now)
I’m living in Bogotá now. (it’s for a limited time)

We form the present continous with the helping verb be+ ing form of a verb.
• Subj+be+verb ing+ complement
• I am working now
• She is studying for the test
Affirmative • They are playing

• Subj+be+ not+verb ing+ complement


• I am not working
• He is not (isn´t) studying
Negative • We are not (aren´t) eating breakfast.

• Be+subjet+verb ing+ complement´+?


• Are you doing exercise?
• What are you doing? Where is she playing?
Questions • Is she reading on a tablet? Yes, she is No, she is not
Complete the questions with the present continous.
