3. DESCRIPTION OF TESTS

3.1 Test Schedule

The packaged-product was subjected to the Atmospheric Pre-Conditioning, 1st Sequence Shock Test, Random Vibration
with Dynamic Load – Over the Road Trailer Simulation, Random Vibration without Load - Pick-up and Delivery Vehicle
Simulation and 2nd Sequence Shock Test as reference to ISTA Test Procedure 3A under “Standard Packaged-Product”
Category.

3.2 Atmospheric Pre-Conditioning

The packaged-product was preconditioned to climate conditioning at Laboratory Ambient Temperature for 12 hours
before test start.

3.3 1st Sequence Shock Test

The purpose of this test is to determine the ability of the packaged-product to withstand the hazards occurring during
manual handling such as loading, unloading, stacking, sorting, or palletizing.

The packaged-product was subjected to 9 free fall impacts at a drop height based on the chart below in the following
sequence:

Drop Sequence Orientation Specific Face, Edge or Corner Drop Height

1 3-4
2 Edge 3-6
3 4-6
4 3-4-6 460mm
Corner
5 2-3-5
6 2-3
Edge
7 1-2
8 3 910mm
Face
9 3 460mm
*Please refer to Appendix I for Identification of Faces, Edges and Corners.

3.4 Random Vibration with Dynamic Load - Over-The-Road Trailer Simulation

The packaged-product was subjected to Random Vibration sequence of ISTA 3A Over-The-Road Trailer Spectrum.
The face 3 of the packaged-product received 60 minutes for Random Vibration input. The faces 4 and 6 each
received 30 minutes for Random Vibration input. Total test duration was 2 hours.
Restraining devices were applied around the packaged-product to prevent it from falling off the vibration table.

Top-Load (TL-L) with face 6 down (2.7–0.71) X 0.685 X 0.18 X 100 24.54 26
(Load required is rounded up to nearest increment of 2kg as per ISTA 3A)
No top load is required during vibration testing if the calculated top load for an axis is less than 11kg
Packaged-product will use 140 kg as the Top-Load if the calculated Top-Load for an axis is more than 140 kg.
