Physical Science

This document provides an outline for a lesson on physical science. It begins with an introduction and objectives to define physical science and its branches. The teaching procedure includes motivating students with examples of famous physicists, identifying branches of physical science, and discussing examples of physical science concepts in everyday life like clouds, ice cubes, and water from a faucet to demonstrate its relevance.

DATE:

I. TOPIC: Introduction to Physical Science

II. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students can:
 Demonstrate an understanding what physical science is
 Identify different branches of physical science

III. REFERENCES: https://en.mwikepedia.org/wiki/outline_of_physical_science

IV. TEACHING PROCEDURE/ STRATEGIES

A. DAILY ROUTINE

 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking of Class Attendance
 Checking of Orderliness and Cleanliness

B. SIMPLE RECALL/ REVIEW

 What do you think is interesting about science?

C. MOTIVATION
Teacher will present famous physicist photo
 Ask the student to identify those people and their contribution

D. DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON

 The teacher will ask the students to tell every branch they can think of under
science.. write those on the board. Circle “physical science” if a student said it.then if
no one mentioned it the teacher will write it on the board.

a. ACTIVITY

PHYSICAL SCIENCE - the sciences concerned with the study of inanimate natural
objects, including physics, chemistry, astronomy and related subject.

BRANCHES OF PHYSICAL SCIENCE –

Physics – along with related concepts such as energy and force

Chemistry – studies the composition, structure, properties and change of matter

Astronomy – study of celestial bodies

Earth Science – science dealing with the planet earth

b.. ANALYSIS

 What are the importance of physical science?

Physical science uses techniques of experimentation and scientific method to
study and measure various physical effects. It emphasizes the importance of
learning scientific method to make studies and draw conclusions about matter,
energy and their interactions.

 Why physics and chemistry is considered to be the main branches of physical science?
because chemistry and physics are branches of science that both study
matter

C. ABSTRACTION

Activity: Physical Science in everyday life

Instruction: below are example of physical sciences that we used in our daily life. Identify
the pictures and explain what makes them connected to physical science

Cloud is an example of Ice cube is an example of physical Water running out of faucet is an
physical science because science because they are a liquid example of physical science because
they are made of water matter that when it gets frozen it piping causes water to go up which is
vapor and look solid. becomes solid. gravity.

Outlet is connected to physical

science because if you plugged
something into it, it carries electric
current
D. APPLICATION/ ASSESSMENT

1. explain the importance of physical science in our everyday life.

Physical science explains much of what you observe and do in your daily life. In fact, you depend
on physical science for almost everything that makes modern life possible. You couldn’t drive a car, text
message, or send a tweet without decades of advances in chemistry and physics.

2. draw or cut a pictures that cite a connection to physical science
