8 STEP PROCESS FOR IMPLEMENTATION:


1. Preparation: Identify what is to be studied (the VM study subject) and when it is to be
studied.
2. Information: Gather information to better understand the project.
3. Function Analysis: Analyze the project to understand and clarify the required
functions.
4. Creativity: Generate ideas on all the possible ways to accomplish the required
functions.
5. Evaluation: Synthesize ideas and concepts and select those that are feasible for
development into specific value improvements.
6. Development: Select and prepare the ‘best’ alternative(s) for improving value.
7. Presentation: Present the value recommendation to the project stakeholders.
8. Implementation: Sponsor and/or stakeholder acceptance of VM alternatives to be
incorporated into the subject under study.
