The Pythagorean Theorem Concept and Proof

The Pythagorean Theorem states that the square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. Pythagoras discovered this theorem in ancient Greece. The theorem can be used to solve problems involving lengths and distances, such as calculating the height of buildings or determining elevations in land surveying. It also has various engineering applications, such as analyzing the forces in truss structures.

The Pythagorean Theorem Proof and Application

Pythagoras, a mathematician who discovered it in the late 1980's. It was one of the greatest
discoveries in the world of mathematics. He believes that all of the sides are perfect squares. The
longest side, called the hypotenuse, squared itself is equal to the square root of the sum of the two
sides squared each side. Let a be the height of the Pythagorean triangle, b will be the base, and c is the
hypotenuse. Moreover, the equation of Pythagorean Theorem was formed as c^2 = a^2 + b^2. The proof
of this was shown below.

Furthermore, this way of solving the problem was not the only applicable way to identify whether it is
a Pythagorean Triangle, there is a deep and advanced math that can also be proven. There is so much
meApplication of the Pythagorean Theorem is solving the area of land, things, and everything that is
applicable to apply.

In Engineering fields such as Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Land and Water
Surveying. The surveyor used this to determine the elevation of a building, place, and mountains. Also,
the stiffness of the canals, ground, and hills. It determines the height or altitude, base and inclination of
building, trees, and so on. When it comes to Structural Engineering, this method applies using the basic
concept in Trusses where the slopes of truss members can be solved by Pythagorean Theorem. Then, it
could also apply to the design of a bridge in further application and topics.
