Activity #2

1. Why is it important for a teacher to be aware of the various development process of

the children undergo in terms of:

a. Physical and motor development – This must be taken into consideration, so

teacher will know the physical potential and ability of learners.

b. Brain development – This is also one of the factors to consider in teaching and
learning process. Doing this, it gives opportunity to the teacher and learners to
adjust in the teaching and learning process.

c. Exceptional development such as physical disabilities, attention deficits and

hyperactivity disorders?

Knowing the exceptional development of the learners, such as physical

disabilities, attention deficits and hyperactivity disorders, makes the teacher adjust
in giving of various activities that suit the learners' learning needs.

2. Why is the appropriate methodology to be used by the teacher in teaching

exceptional children?

It is pretty challenging to teach exceptional children, but teachers should be more

focused on engaging lessons to participate actively in class with accurate methods. For
example, the teacher should describe or explain any visual materials used during classes for
visually impaired students. You can also dictate whenever you’re writing something on the
board. Also, you can use assistive technology, give oral instructions, change the classroom
rules and rely on tactile information whenever possible.
