 CLSU PHILOSOPHY

- In line with the university’s philosophy, as a civil engineering student and a future
civil engineer, I should contribute to the society by improving and protecting the
environment in which we live and increasing the health and quality of life, from
developing better water supplies, to the design of buildings to protect people from
natural hazards and provide health care. In the other hand, through this subject we can
contribute to the economical, societal, and cultural aspects by developing critical
viewing skills and comparative analysis of films relevant to the Philippine context.

 CLSU MISSION
- In accordance with the university’s mission, one should apply, generate, and
disseminate my knowledge in order to improve the quality of life for those people
currently living in poverty, and meeting our own needs without compromising the
ability of the future generations. Through this subject, we can improve the quality of
films relevant to the Philippine context and produce films where people can pick-up
positive values, norms, and attitude in order to attain social development.

 CLSU VISION
- In fulfillment with the university’s vision, one should contribute by educating citizens
who are prepared, meaningful, and committed to service and improvement. Through
this subject, we can develop and explain selected theory in social film analysis,
identify social films that are relevant to the Philippine context, and be able to express
meaningful thoughts about the social significance of film topics, in order to make the
people aware of the events in our country.
