Reflective Essay: How to Use Nebulizer

In this video, we have learned about nebulization. This is used when a client or a
patient is unable, they use an inhaler are the asthma symptoms get worse. Nebulizer
therapy supports bronchial hygiene by restoring and maintaining mucous membrane
continuity, hydrating dry secretions, promoting secretion, humidifying inhaled oxygen,
and administering medications. We have two options: a mouthpiece or a mask. Mask is
what we usually use for kids, but a mouthpiece is the best option for the therapy.

Moving on to the video, I have now understood the different parts of a nebulizer.
it includes the mouthpiece, the medicine cap, the tubing, end the compressor or the
machine. The machine our compressor can just be a plugged in or has a battery. make
sure that the battery is charged so that you will not be interrupted when you're doing the
procedure. Place the medication in the nebulizer, attach to the compressor and switch
open. In inhaling the medicine, slow down breathing so that you will not feel
lightheaded. This usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. Once the medicine is almost finished,
just tap the cup. After it was all consumed, turn off the device and just remove the
residual.

As nurses, it is important that we educate patients the correct form of therapy to obtain
successful results and avoid problems. We can also demonstrate the procedure to
make it clear to the patient. Highlight adherence to therapy and promptly report adverse
symptoms for appropriate interference.

With the evolution of changes in today's healthcare, the transition to effective prevention
techniques is more significant. The role of nurses in preventive health care is to use
evidence-based research and recommendations to enhance patient health. Nurses are
compounds for improved lifestyles through support and education, and they help
patients receive possibly preventive services such as counseling, screenings, and
preventive care or medications. Nurses can use education, mentoring, and leadership to
encourage people to commit to healthy lifestyles.
