SECTION 2. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

SECTION 3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION


Harmful if swallowed. Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye irritation. Hazardous in case of skin
contact (corrosive).

SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES


INHALATION: Remove victim from area of exposure - avoid becoming a casualty. Remove
contaminated clothing and loosen remaining clothing. Allow patient to assume most comfortable
position and keep warm. Keep at rest until fully recovered. Seek medical advice if effects persist.
SKIN CONTACT: If skin or hair contact occurs, immediately remove any contaminated clothing and
wash skin and hair thoroughly with running water. If swelling, redness, blistering or irritation occurs
seek medical assistance.
EYE CONTACT: If in eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush the eye continuously with running water.
Continue flushing until advised to stop by a Poisons Information Centre or a doctor, or for at least 15
minutes.
INGESTION: Rinse mouth with water. If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water.
Seek immediate medical assistance.
MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT: Treat symptomatically.

SECTION 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES


SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Fine water spray, normal foam, dry agent (carbon dioxide, dry
chemical powder).
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Fire fighters to wear self-contained breathing apparatus and
suitable protective clothing if risk of exposure to products ofdecomposition.
HAZARD DECOMPOSTION PRODUCTS: Non-combustible material. Decomposes on heating emitting
toxic fumes including those of hydrogen chloride and oxides of aluminium .
SPECIFIC METHODS: Fire fighters to wear self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective
clothing if risk of exposure to products of decomposition.

SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES


SMALL SPILL AND LEAK : Dilute with water and mop up, or absorb with an inert dry material and
place in a appropriate waste disposal ccontainer. Finish cleaning by spreading water on the
contaminated surface of according to local and regional authority requirements.
LARGE SPILL AND LEAK : Absorb with an inert material and put the spilled material in a apporpiate
waste disposal. Finish cleaning by spreading water on tho contaminated surface and allow to
evacuate through the sanitary system.

SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE


CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place and out of direct
sunlight. Store away from incompatible materials described in Section 10. Keep containers closed
when not in use - check regularly for leaks.
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING: Avoid skin and eye contact and breathing in vapour, mists and
aerosols.

SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

TECHNICAL MEASURES/PRECAUTIONS : Ensure ventilation is adequate and that air concentrations of


components are controlled below quoted Exposure Standards. Keep containers closed when not in
use.
GENERAL PROTECTIVE MEASURES: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
HYGIENE MEASURES: When using do not eat or drink. When using do not smoke. Wash hands before
breaks and immediately after handling the product..
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION : In the case of vapor formation use a respirator with an approved filter.
HAND PROTECTION: Impervious gloves.
EYE PROTECTION: Eye wash bottle with pure water. Tightly fitting safety chemical goggles. Wear
face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.

MATERIALS TO AVOID : Avoid contact with acids and alkalis. Slowly corrodes metal.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS : Hydrogen chloride. Oxides of aluminium.

PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENT
