The document discusses the external static pressure calculation for a building system (BSF-1) for the Al Maha Sofitel Hotel project in Doha, Qatar. It outlines the total duct length, friction rate used, and individual pressure drops from the farthest volume damper and supply grille to calculate the external static pressure of 410 Pa with a 10% safety factor added.

External Static Pressure Calculation for BSF-1
- Friction rate used in determining duct size: 0.80 Pa/m
External Static Pressure = (total length of duct x friction rate) + pressure drop for the farthest volume damper + pressure drop for the farthest supply grille.
Where:
Total length of duct = 300m + 50% for fittings
= 450m
Volume damper pressure drop = 3 Pa (See attached pressure drop chart)
Supply grille pressure drop = 10 Pa (See attached grille performance data)
External Static Pressure = (450m x 0.80 Pa/m) + 3 Pa + 10 Pa
External Static Pressure = 373 Pa. + 10% safety factor = 373 Pa + 37 Pa External Static pressure= 410 Pa say 450 Pa
