PRECIOSA Karo™
PRECIOSA ORNELA has expanded its range of seed beads sold under
the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads ™ brand. We present the new
two-hole PRECIOSA Karo™ Seed Bead. Like the PRECIOSA Twin™
this new two-hole seed bead is also made from flat 5 mm wide
glass tubes which have been cut into squares. The width of the
basic tube and the length of the cut are therefore always the
same. This flat, square seed bead is an ideal comple-
ment to the twin range. It is excellent when used to
create geometric patterns. You can create both
highly effective, yet simple, flat brick orna-
ments or three-dimensional, almost archi-
tectural accessories.

I could make a matching bracelet. I real-

Rivolis and voila the bracelet was born
and has lived on my wrist ever since. I’ve
used a beautiful custom coated rivoli
and opulent looking seeds and bicones
to give this a feeling of eastern promise.
I’ve also included the earring instruc-

one step further why not make multiple
earring components and attached them
together to make a very showy necklace.
Considering the opulent look the overall
cost for bracelet and earrings was under
£25 and can be made in a weekend. Let this sparkly bracelet

Beaded Bead prize draw
In previous years the Guild has run a
competition for all to participate in but
this year we have changed it slightly and
will be having a Prize Draw. Our famous
beaded bead necklace always attracts
lots of attention at shows, and so we
want to make more. We are asking bead-
ers to donate a beaded bead to the Guild
and for each bead received you will be
entered into a prize draw for the chance
to win lots of beading goodies. Details
of prizes will be available on the IBW
website and the prize pot will be added
to right up to the start of International
Beading Week.

How to enter
Simply make and donate a beaded
bead to the Guild, or several beaded
beads for more chances to win! It can be
as elaborate or simple as you like, you
can be a beginner, intermediate or expe-
rienced beader, the prize draw is open to
all (including non-members) at any stage
of your beading journey.
The rules are simple:

Pagoda Tassel
Pattern

Inspired by architecture, the Pagoda tassel is a self supporting

decoration worked in tubular peyote stitch with Miyuki Delica and
seed beads. Pearls and crystals are used as accent beads. This
design is suitable for beaders with experience of peyote stitch, full
instructions are given for all the increases and decreases.
The pattern includes the materials list for all three colour-ways

FANTASY
Create this lively and colourful
necklace, perfect for summer

DESIGNED BY REBECCA STRATFORD

tep into summer with this fun to
make macrame project. Watch
as the macrame knots naturally
spiral as you make it. Also Rebecca has
used tassels, which are so current at
the moment you’ll be bang on trend. The
cluster of beads give it a chunky, but
not heavy feel and will stand out against
your everyday summer outfits. Make in
whatever colour you fancy and for under
a fiver to make, why not make two! 1
Start by cutting 8 lengths of 1mm waxed
cord, 1.25 metres each.

You will need:

Next repeat steps 3-10 on the four cords
we put to one side earlier. This necklace
is created by making two symmetrical

COLOURWISE
Try browns and turquoise,
which are great for a
cool summer look.

Attach cord ends to the top by folding

bottom knots on each half that holds the
