STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Life is full of challenges and it's about grabbing all the opportunities that come your way in order
to have a successful career. But that alone doesn't work. It should be appended with hard work,
dedication and the ability to manage different facets. And the opportunities never come your
way unless you have a profound knowledge on the field you study.

From the very beginning of my education, I have a deep inclination towards the subjects that
challenge me and draw upon my abilities. Thus, Mathematics and Physics were my favourite
subjects. I learnt that science and technology is the best combination of learning, analyzing and
applying the knowledge and was amused by its potential. When I had to choose between a
plethora of engineering disciplines, I chose Mechanical Engineering in undergraduate study, as I
am interested in automobile and robotics but, while in my undergraduate, my interest and desire
shifted towards computer science because of cutting-edge technology. So in my final year of
undergraduate I started learning computer technology skills such as C, JAVA and PYTHON. I
have worked on various software tools and was able to secure immense comprehension about
them. In the desired field, the related work experience not only helped me to improve in
software skills but also got me acquainted with real time problem solving skills. Later, I was
introduced to AWS, Linux, Networking Technologies and operating systems as a part of the daily
routine. These types of skills and the challenges they put forth have attracted me to develop
interest in the field. With this interest, I have chosen my masters program in Computer
information Systems.

Apart from academics, I am an avid participant in extracurricular activities. I have participated in


my school chess championship. Managing and organizing things has always fetched me
appreciation and experience. Especially in college, I have organized various events in my
college. YANTRA UTSAV numerous students participated in these events and, I am an
organizer, was able to handle them all. Each time, I had to lead and also work with many people
to make the events successful. Based on my contributions to my college, I was even facilitated
with an Outstanding Student Volunteering Award. Initially I have taken up a few challenges as a
volunteer by volunteering for many events in the college. Apart from these I possess good
communication skills and effective presentation skills. Even my professors were greatly
impressed with these presentations and I was applauded. I developed an ability to manage
critical situations, to handle peer pressure and also spontaneity.

In the course of my life, there are many people who have motivated me at different times but I
strongly feel that my parents, who have been my mentors all through, are my true motivators.
They have been with me in my thick and thin. They helped me develop into a versatile
individual. I strongly believe that, “One can enjoy the real taste of the subject whenever we goes
deep into it, finding answers for the unknown and analyzing the known”. These words always
kept lingering in my mind and encouraged me to pursue higher education leaving behind the
position that I hold in a renowned multinational company.
I am aware that the journey ahead may be arduous and demanding at times. But then the thrill I
get when I discover something new at the frontiers of human knowledge, however small the
contribution may be, is challenges, I feel confident to meet up with the high standards set by
your university and that, if given an opportunity I would strive to stamp my footprint in the field of
Computer Information Systems and also contribute a lot to it.
