Sample Interview Question

1. How long is your travel time from your home to here?


- It will take approximately 15 minutes. Since I have motorcycle, it is not hard for me to travel.
2. Tell us something about yourself
- I’m(name), I just graduated from college this year. I had my internship with (company) as a
Marketing Intern where I learned how to create engaging content to connect to the
audience online and gained valuable industry knowledge. I am consistent dean’s lister and I
took part in environmental organization in my school. I am a self-starter with strong
interpersonal skills. I work efficiently both as an individual contributor as well as along with
a team. I am always keen to up-skill my self by learning new things whenever I get a chance.
I also do online selling almost a year now, so, I know exactly how to deal with different types
of customers.

3. Why did you choose this industry?


- The BPO industry is growing considerably and I can see that job prospects are huge here.
And I’m really excited to work in a fast-paced environment that will challenge me to use all
of my skills to solve problems and improve the customer experience. I’m aware of the
stress, Im aware of the graveyard shift, and the irate customers, as well as the pure hard
work necessary for this job and I’m fully prepared.

4. Why do you want to work for our company?


- Because I heard that your company is one of the most outstanding in BPO industry. Aside
from the fact that you’re offering higher compensation, I heard nothing but a good feedback
especially on how your handling the agents.

5. What is BPO?
- BPO is abbreviated as Business Process Outsourcing. When a company wants its non-core
work to be done by an expert at cheaper cost then they outsource their work to other
country which is called Business Process Outsourcing

6. What Is call center?


- It’s a customer care center where calls are handles in large volume of enquiries by
telephone and deliver superb customer service experience.

7. Why should we hire you?


- You should hire me because I’m person who pays very close attention to quality. I always
give it my hundred percent. And I really believe I could apply this to customer service. You
see, my number one rule when helping customers is, as much as possible, they should not
have to call for the same problem twice. That to me, is the very definition of an excellent
customer service. Of course, depending on lots of factors, this isn’t always possible. But if I
can help it, I will make sure that customers know what they have to know right on the first
call and that their concerns are addresed to the best of my ability while also following the
company policy.
8. Why we should NOT hire you?
- You should not hire me if I didn’t meet the qualification you’re looking for. If you’re not
looking for a competitive person and who has ability to work under pressure then you
should not hire me.

9. What can you contribute to our company?


- The best thing that I can contribute to your company is my expertise in dealing with
different customers. As I said before, I am selling online almost a year now, I deal with
different types of customers. That’s why when I found out that your company is looking for
customer service agents who would serve customers internationally, I just couldn’t pass up
the opportunity and decided to apply.

10. What is your idea of quality customer sevice?


- My idea of quality customer service is being able to provide customer with friendly,
professional service that not only solves their problems or answer their questions, but also
leaves them feeling satisfied with the service they received.
11. How would you handle a call from an angry/irate customer?
- I think the first step is to stay calm and express to the customer that you understand them.
You have to think from their point of view and try to meet their demands. The best way to
de-escalate the situation is to work towards a solution.

12. Where do you see yourself THREE/FIVE years from now?


- In three/five years from now, I see myself being highly skilled agent and if I’m qualified
enough, I’ll probably aim for a promotion. Basically, I would like to be at a more responsible
solution so that my company would treat me as an asset and not as a burden. I hope to
grow further with the company with every passing year.

13. Do you have any questions for me?


- Yes, I have. Did you start as an agent in this company?
- How long did it takes for you to reached that position?

14. What is your strength and weaknesses?


- I am very patient person capable of dealing with irate and demanding customers. I have
good communication skills and I know how to operate computer programs. I am a team
players and get along with people very well.
- As for my weaknesses, I guess my biggest weakness is working too much and not knowing
how to stop. I would say that this is a weakness because sometimes I would render too
much over time that it becomes detrimental to my health.

15. What makes you qualified to work in a call center?


- Well, I am qualified to work in a call center because I possess qualities which makes one a
good call center agent. I am very flexible, I don’t have complaints with shift work or working
at nights. I am willing to learn and not intimidated with learning new things
16. How do you handle stress?
- I try to react to situations rather than to stress. That way, I can handle the situation without
becoming too stressed. For example, when I deal with an unsatisfied customer, rather than
focusing on feeling stressed. I focus on the task at hand. I believe my ability to communicate
effectively with customers during these moments helps reduce my own stress. And I think it
also reduces any stress the customer may feel.
17. How long will you stay in our company?
- I would like to continue working for this company as long as my services are needed

18. How much is your expected salary?


- Well, since I’m a biginner in this kind of industry and I don’t have any experience at all in call
centers, I’m fine of what the company can offer to me.

19. What is your expectation from the company?


- Well, I expect a good treatment of the bosses to their agents, a healthy and warmth
environment. I also expect more knowledge that I really have to learn in order to improve
my skills that could help on my career growth

20. What is customer service?


- Customer service is the one who provide customer needs and make them satisfied and
happy to your service.

21. Do you believe that customer is always right?


- Literally not all the time, but as part of our job . We have to treat them right because
without them, we don’t have this job too. So let them feel the best quality service we can
offer and that is our goal.

22. What will be the reason for you to be late or absent?


- Well, the only reason is if there is an emergency or accident. I always manage my time very
well.
