Communication Model
MESSAGE – what really happen to him and telling that the letter could answer why he went far away from
his bestfriend
The communication model schematizes the process of discursive communication from SENDER who sends
a message through a MEDIUM to an intended RECEIVER, who in turn sends a FEEDBACK to the sender, to
complete the discursive title. This schema is useful to clarify the sender’s discursive intent for the message, the
sender’s message in terms of content, form and style, and the sender’s choice of medium with which to reach the
intended receiver. The shaping of the message determines to a large extent the feedback given to the sender in most
cases, if the feedback sent to the sender is the feedback desired by the sender, then the sender can conclude that
the communicative process has succeeded as far as his/her intent is concerned

Task
Write a response to Loloy by describing and narrating the suppressed feelings and feedback of
“Kid” and Pepita.
Ans: The interpretation of the story was in Loloy’s perspective. Which was what he would want the
readers to see but it does not mean that it actually happened. It said how Pepita enjoyed the encounter
that they had and that she even smiled in the end. However, that was Loloy’s perspective. But what
really happened was Pepita was raped by Loloy because he of his temptation to women.
If you were Loloy’s friend “Kid”, what would be your response to Loloy’s letter?
Ans: If I were Kid, I would still forgive Loloy given his confession in the story because for me,
everybody makes mistakes. Even if you tell someone not to do this, they still end up doing it again.
In Loloy’s case, women are his weakness. It’s not that easy to fight against your temptation.
However, Loloy took advantage of the kind of friendship that they share. But it does not mean that
just because of that incident, Kid would start ignoring him or not forgive him. If they are truly best
friends, Kid would understand Loloy’s point of view.
If you were Pepita, what would be your response to Loloy’s letter?
Ans: I will write about my side through a personal letter explaining that I was been raped by Loloy.
Task:
Write a probable ending that would include the narrative/response of “kid” and Pepita:
Ans: Loloy is a good fictional story writer. We would sense that this letter is just full of lies. Pepita didn’t say
anything in real-life. Loloy just assumed those words coming out of Pepita by observing her eyes. And the
sex thing, that is actually rape by Loloy. He raped his best friend’s sister! How bad of him. That’s how he’s
great at lies. He just used his best friend in order to gain pleasure from raping his sister. Loloy’s weakness
might not really be falling easily for girls, but rather falling easily for lust. The first thing that comes into my
mind when I read the story is that the main sin of Loloy that made Kid mad is when he made love with
Pepita and to not tell Kid immediately but instead he wrote a letter of apology. But when we discussed it in
class, we realized that as told, Loloy is a good writer of short stories and that he is charismatic in a way that
he talks to girls well and therefore, he becomes an unreliable writer because of this trait. It is said to us that
all the good traits shown in the last paragraph are not all true and that Loloy made that up to prepare Kid to
tell him that he raped Pepita because of lack of self-control and then hides it because of the good
implications that he included.
