A. IDENTIFICATION. Write the items being described in the following statements on the blank
before the number. (7 items x 1 point)
(BPA) Business process automation 1. It is the process of managing data, information, and
processes to reduce cost, resources, and investments.
IoT Ecosystem 2. It refers to a complex interconnected system which allows different
components to connect to IoT devices.
Technology 3. It is the application of scientific knowledge to different industries for practical
purposes.
Information Technology (IT) 4. It is the study and use of computer systems for storing,
retrieving, and sending information.
Analytics 5. It is the software system that analyzes the data generated by IoT devices.
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system 6. It refers to software packages which integrate and
streamline data across a company into one (1) complete system to support the
needs of the entire enterprise.
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) 7. It is a software licensing model in which access to the software is
provided on a subscription basis.
B. ENUMERATION. Give three (3) characteristics of an ERP system. (3 items x 1 point)
1. A mass-user-oriented application environment.
2. Fundamentally models a process-oriented enterprise.
3. Enables a real-time enterprise.

C. ESSAY. Answer the following items on the space provided or at the back of this paper (as
needed).

a. Define an ERP system based on how you understand its concept. Use your own words. (5
points)

ERP system needs to be used by companies today especially the growing ones. It helps in
handling different kinds of transactions that other systems cannot do. ERP also minimizes
the confusion and expenses in the workplace as you do not need to use various systems in
order to maintain the security of your company. It also reduces the consumption of time
when it comes to managing legal documents. It enhances and can be utilized in every aspect
of work operation.

b. Write a short analysis about the evolution of ERP in the industry. (5 points)

It started in 1913 when Engineer Harris developed the Economic Order Quantity Model which
helps in production scheduling. In 1964, Material Requirements Planning to improve business
productivity. In 1983, the MRP II was developed in order to handle various activities. In 1990,
Enterprise Resource Planning was created. In 21 st Century, the ERP grew in the industry. As
ERP evolves, the cost also reduces which is helpful for any kind of business.
