Dear Katie,
How are you? Last month, my friend Becky and I joined the school sports
club, and it’s great! Becky joined the club because she wanted to play
basketball and I joined it because I love playing football. We discovered
that there were already lots of good football and basketball players in the
club, and the coaches didn’t choose us for the teams very often, so we decided to try hockey. Now I’m
in the hockey team and we play a match every week. I didn’t know how to play hockey a month ago, but
now I’m really good at it!
Last weekend I went shopping with my mum, and she bought me a hockey stick. She bought me a
mouth guard, too, because you have to protect your teeth when you play hockey. We didn’t buy shin
pads because I can borrow them from school. We’ve got lots of sports equipment at school. You can
borrow rackets, bats and balls, too. On Tuesday, my team played a hockey match with another school.
We played very well, but we didn’t win. The other team was very good! After the match, we went out for a
pizza and we had a great time.
