Dear respondents!

This checklist is prepared to conduct SWOT-AR (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and


Threats, Aspiration and Result) analysis of Dire Dawa University as an important part of
strategic planning. It a critical stage which helps the team to proceed to the next phases of
planning process as it identifies strong sides, areas of improvement, issue for expansion and
growth, as well as area of preparedness for threats.

The checklist is designed to gather information on SWOT-AR of the University about seven
major issues such as vision, mission and values; teaching and learning; research and technology
exchange ; student services; procurement, finance, and property administration, Human Resource
Management, management and administration; Planning, Monitoring and evaluation System; and
information communication technology.

All the data provided will be treated in the strictest CONFIDENTIALITY. The collected
information will only be used as input to SWOT analysis for strategic planning of Dire Dawa
University. Your kind help will contribute to the success of the University’s strategic plan.

We would be grateful for your support to this research by having a better discussion.

Issue 1: Mission, vision and values
