Blowing Machine Challenges 251120
Blowing Machine Challenges 251120
Issue: Wobbling preform during heating at high speed leads to breaking of heating elements.
Action: Fabricate new spindles for 2L bottles as well as replace all broken heating elements.
Frequent stopping of the blowing machine
Issue: Frequent stoppage of blowing machine leading to damage of preforms as well as machine efficiency.
Action: Faulty servo motor for the stretched rod during blowing. EMEC lead engineer has placed an order for a
spare servo motor. QPGH to calculate the total preform damaged during the trouble shooting process.
Unequal distribution of preform mass
Issue: Extremely hard bottle shoulder and soft base of the bottle leading to leakage. This is due to
unequal distribution of preform mass during blowing
Action: Adjust the heating element for uniform heating of the preform. Adjustment in-progress, QPGH
team is currently monitoring
Stretched preform without blowing
Issue: The preforms stretch but does not blow into bottle leading to the damage of preforms due to
sensor communication.
Action: EMEC team had adjusted the sensor for better communication
Installation cost to EMEC
Filler adjustments
• For accurate volume of oil in the bottle, the filler bowl was adjusted upwards
with Teflon disc, this will be changed to a well fabricated stainless steel disc by
Kelvin (EMEC team lead).
• The cap level sensor has been modified to detect the minimum and maximum
level to avoid frequent burning of unscrambler motor.
