Linear Text vs.

Non Linear Text

Linear text rrefers to traditional text requires to be read from the beginning to the end. There is only
one reading path, which iss decided by the author. Typically includes printed texts. It somehow takes
time for the reader to find the information they are looking for. In linear texts, contents are linear and
sequential structure. In llinear textts, there is focus on grammar and style. Examples of linear texts
include novels, poems, letters, newspaper articles etc.

On the other hand, non-linear text refers to the next that does not need to be read from the beginning
to the end. There are multiple reading paths. They are determined by the reader. Typically include
digital texts. Nnon-linear texts allow readers to find information more efficiently. In non-linear text,
contents are organized in a network structure. In non-linear texts include flowcharts, knoeledge maps
and encyclopedia
