Learning Action Cell (LAC) Plan

Narrative Report

Teacher today are trying their best to deliver education in the home of
our children amidst pandemic. In line with these teacher challenge is that they
will be able to learn and apply what this course is about and how it will help
them manage the teaching-learning process in the modalities.
With the current condition about the pandemic, teachers must equipped and
oriented with the knowledge and skills to cope up with the need of the schools
and students.
The LAC GROUP 2 composed of teachers teaching in FILIPINO and
EDUKASYON sa PAGPAPAKATAO at Barangka Elementary School conducted
their first Learning Action Cell( LAC) Session last June 1 -4, 2021 which the
purpose on these are the following:
1. To improve the teaching –learning process that will lead to improved learning
among the students;
2. To nurture successful teachers;
3. To enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their content
and pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills and attitudes, and
4. To foster a professional collaborative spirit among school heads, teachers and
community as a whole

The LAC Group 2 is composed of LAC Leader, Resource Speakers, LAC


Facilitator, LAC Documenter, LAC Secretary and LAC Members with the total
participants of 13.

June 2, 2021 was the first day of LAC Session which started at 2:45 o’clock
in the afternoon via google meet. It started with a prayer thru video
presentation followed by Pilipinas Kong Mahal. Ms. Melina Luzong the
facilitator of this first LAC Session of Group 2 checked the attendance of
participants. Ma’am Josephine Ann B. Calendas, Master Teacher I who was the
LAC Leader also of this LAC Group gave her opening remarks in behalf of our
OIC to the principal Ma’am Jean DA. Castillo, and Ma’am Jocelyn I. Sayangco
gave the Statement of Purpose of this LAC Session. Before the proper session
started, Ma’am Luzong divide the participants into small group which each
member will discuss about the MOVs gathering in LDM Portfolio, what artifacts
learned from LDM and also the artifacts or MOVs for LDM Practicum Portfolio
have in common.
Our first speaker was Ma’am Josephine Ann B. Calendas who discussed
about the LDM 2 Practicum Portfolio Guide and she gave emphasis to the
required LDM artifacts needed. After a few questions and clarifications about
the topic discussed about the topic, it was followed by the finalization of
working committees. It was a good sign that each participants is willing to
work in which committees they assigned with.
The next speaker was Ms. Melina A. Luzong, she talked about the Review of
D.O. 35, s. 2016 Roles and Responsibilities of Members and the Document
Required for Submission. She tackled the Deped 35, s. 2016 is all about. She
also gave the meaning and concept of Learning Action Cell or LAC and its
objectives, the Theoretical Framework, what are the topics for LAC sessions.
How is LAC being implemented, the composition of a LAC, the norms for LAC
implementation and many more. After some queries of some participants, the
session ends at exactly 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
June 3, 2021. The LAC session of group 2 Filipino and Edukasyon sa
Pagpapakatao Day 2 started at 3:00 pm. Eleven  out of 13  members  were able
to attend the LAC session.It started with a prayer, followed by “Pilipinas Kong
Mahal”. Ms. Celestina Custodio discussed about 21st Century Skills. She

started her topic with a question “What is 21st Century Skills?”. During her
talk, she enumerated and explained the 12 21st Century Skills, the three
categories of 21st Century skills  which are learning skills, literacy skills and
life skills. In line with Ms. Celestina Custodio’s topic, Ms. Melina Luzong
conducted the workshop. She introduced first to us some of  her educational
apps she used in her online class. These are JAMBOARD and STORY JUMPER.
When you want to create an online and exciting group work activity for your
students, Jamboard is highly recommended. And if you want to create digital
and creative stories, you can use story jumper educational apps.
Breakout session was done, giving each group a chance to collaborate in
sharing their learnings from the topic using JAMBOARD.Output were
presented after.
The second speaker was Ms. Sisa Alave. She tackled about the “ Video
Techniques in Producing Quality Video Lesson”. She discussed how will the
student benefits from video lesson. She also explained the advantages and
limitations of video lesson. She also mentioned the 4 easy steps in making
video lesson .After her discussion, we are assigned to make our own video
lesson through powerpoint.
    Before the LAC session ends, our facilitator Ms. Melina Luzong reminded
us to submit our output in google drive.

June 4, 2021. The 3rd day of LAC session of group 2-Edukasyon sa


Pagpapakatao and Filipino started at exactly 3 pm via google meet. The
attendees in this session was complete 13/13. Ma`am Karen Gabayno take
charged that day, she started with a prayer followed by for the country and
challenging energizer and everyone enjoyed it. She presented her recap for
day 2 thru video and power point presentation. After that she introduced the
1st speaker, Ma`am Jocelyn Sayangco,a grade 2 teacher. Her topic was
“Overcoming Challenges in Learning Deliveries in the New Normal: Sharing of
the Best Practices”. She discussed  four most challenging  in teaching the
learners in time of new normal and we also had a session break in each group
for sharing experiences then we reported also. She also gave an individual
output to accomplished and upload it in our google drive. Ma`am Karen also
introduced the 2nd speaker. She is Ma`am Violeta Dig, a grade 5 teacher.
Ma`am Violy,discussed to us the “Curriculum Contextualization, Localization
and Indigenization. She explained well by giving some examples on how to
apply in our daily lesson planned. Some of our colleagues also shared their
insights regarding her topic. She also gave an individual output and
instructions on how to accomplish it. She ended her topic with a quote “Don`t
put a limit on anything. The more  you dream the farther you get” by Michael
Phelps.

June 7, 2021. This was the last session of our LAC. As usual it started with a
prayer followed by Ang Pilipinas Kong Mahal. Miss Reymajoy L. Dumlao gave
the Recap during the 3rd day session thru video presentation. After this feed
backing and evaluations of the entire session. Then sharing of experiences and
committee reports. The most awaited moment was the closing program.
Everyone was happy as they watched the presentation of the certificate to each
participant. It’s the end of our 4-day LAC Session.
