Classroom Observation Checklist

The classroom observation checklist summarizes a teacher's lesson plan and execution. It contains 7 criteria for evaluation: lesson planning, subject knowledge, teaching methods, student management, assessment of student work, homework, and use of instructional materials. Each criterion contains 2-3 indicators that are rated on a scale of 1 to 3. The observer provides comments on examples of the teacher's practice that meet or do not meet the criteria. Both the teacher and observer sign and date the completed checklist.
