Personal Development
Human development refers to the physical, cognitive and socio-psychological development of human
beings throughout their lives. These were identified by developmental scientists, Papalia & Feldman
in 2012. Physical development includes the growth and changes of the body and brain, senses, motor
skills, and health and well-being. For instance, as their basic senses of sight, touch, smell, sound, and
taste develop, newborns learn about the world. Babies, in fact, can hear long before they are born.
Newborns enjoy looking at faces and will seek out intriguing things to look at from the moment they
are born. Within days of birth, an infant can detect the mother's scent and hear her voice. Infants are
aware of their surroundings from the moment they are born. Cognitive development involves learning,
attention, memory, language, thinking, reasoning, and creativity. For instance, it is important for
parents to foster their children’s cognitive development as soon as they are born because doing so
provides the foundation of their success in school and in their future. By actively engaging in quality
interactions on a daily basis would help in promoting children’s cognitive development. Psychosocial
development involves emotions, personalities and social relationships. Changes in children's overt
conduct, as well as their social cognition, are all part of their psychosocial development. For example,
they learn to see things from other people’s point of view and to acknowledge that other people's
actions are based on their own knowledge and desires.
“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength,
mastering yourself is true power.” This quote written by Lao Tzu has a very deep meaning and
contributes to personal development. Personally, I think the purpose of this quote is to encourage
people that knowing yourself is a priority because not only would it give you the satisfaction of
finally knowing your full potential in life but would give you answers that you question about
yourself. Often times, we find that we know the people we care about the most than we know
ourselves. In those circumstances, we are able to anticipate and fulfill their needs and desires without
them asking. However, when it comes to understanding and addressing our needs we are lost.
Personal reflection is at the heart of getting to know oneself. Understanding yourself, what makes you
happy or unhappy, uncovering your anxieties, and determining how you actually feel about yourself is
a process that takes time, work, and bravery. One of the best things you can do not only for yourself
but also for others is by understanding who you are and allow that to be the essence of all your
interactions. As the only thing you can do is interact with them based on who you actually are and not
who they want you to be, through this, you have the power to teach them how to love and nurture the
real you. Knowing oneself is a time for you to be honest and a difficult journey to dive into especially
with having to accept your past experiences, and to acknowledge the weaknesses we have and just
cherishing every bit of it. The good, the bad and the ugly would always be there and it is okay.
In this video, all the arguments and her opinions are valid and which I standby due to the following
reasons. In this society, being skinny and sexy are the characteristics of a female that is seen by the
public as a perfect person, same goes with men. These characteristics are then being ideal to the
people of our society, where people think in order to be perfect, they have to have these kinds of
assets, which is utterly ridiculous and quite saddening if I must say. We grew up in a society where
we learn that having such body fat is ugly to the eyes of the people and that people are ready to
unleash hateful comments about other people's bodies. When, in fact, everyone is born unique and
there is no such thing as perfect in this world full of flaws. Through the end, I standby what she said
that instead of degrading someone based on their body image, body positivity should exist. Body
positivity is the belief that everyone deserves to have a good body image, regardless of how society
and popular culture perceive ideal form, size, and appearance. Body positivity should flourish in order
for the children to know what matters is not the outside but the inside.

A diary is a book used to keep track of events as they occur or to make plans for the future. For
example, you might use it to keep track of significant dates throughout the year in order to stay
organized, or you could use it to jot down your daily ideas. While, a reaction paper is something you
write to show your feelings or thoughts about a certain topic. A reaction paper usually has controlled
thoughts. The purpose of writing a reaction paper is to inform or share about different topics such as
movies, fashion, or experiences. While, the purpose of writing a diary is for the writer himself.
Reaction papers are said to be more onto the academic and professional side which also follows a
structure of formality, descriptive and makes use of rhetorical devices. A diary is more of a self –
expression where an individual can fully do whatever he/she wants and usually, a diary does not
follow a format, therefore, a diary uses a less formal language and no such requirement for the usage
of rhetorical devices. Reaction papers can be seen on reviews of products, places, movies and even on
the internet. While, a diary is normally hidden privately or only seen by the writer as it is a personal
value.
When reading a reaction paper, one hopes to be both educated and entertained. Reaction papers assist
us in making daily decisions such as what movie to watch, what apparel to wear, and what causes to
support. It informs us that we are not alone in our experiences of the world, and that there are others
who have gone before us who are willing to advise us on what to look out for and how to get the most
out of what we are going to encounter. The movie, review, gadget review, trip advisor post, and other
travel reviews, restaurant reviews, and articles that analyze a social phenomenon or a common
experience are modern exchanges of the response paper. Many editorials, if not all, may be classified
as response pieces or stance papers. Many of them have been published in newspapers, periodicals,
and online journals. The reaction paper may reach out and remind us that we are not alone, even if the
contemporary world might be a lonely and isolating place. It helps to know that the other person is
going through the same situation, and that this person can offer advice on how to live, what to avoid,
and where to find pleasure. When done correctly, a reaction paper may help us digest our own
experiences and see things we wouldn't have noticed otherwise.
Understanding Culture, Society and Politics
The study of Durkheim relied on official suicide data obtained regardless of their definition, which he
knows would lead to this outcome. Durkheim defined suicide as 'death occurring directly or indirectly
from the positive or negative act of the victim itself. For example, the people that sacrificed their lives
for others were never documented as a result of their deaths "indirectly" in official statistics; nor were
those whose deaths were typically recorded in statistics. Durkheim intended to show that a gauge of
social pathogens was the suicide rate. The breakdown of conventional constraints led, according to
Durkheim, in anomy and egotism, and their impact might thus be utilized as a social pathological
index. In his opinion, alienation was assessed by the rate of anomalous suicide, while self-restraint
was determined by the rate of egoistic suicide. On the other side, altruistic suicide represented social
sacrifice. Although it makes theoretical sense to build altruistic suicide, such actions (heroism) have
never been documented as suicides. There may be virtually no fatalistic suicides because, according to
Durkheim, “it has so little current relevance and examples are so difficult to locate... that it seems
pointless to linger on it.” As a result, future research shunned fatalistic suicide.
In my opinion, both state apparatuses, ideological and repressive, is the most effective way in
disciplining the members of the society due to the following reasons. Ideological state apparatuses are
institutions developed and utilized by society to shape its members to share the same values and views
that the average member of that society holds. It functions massively and predominant by ideology
and not through actual violence. For instance, at a young age, children learn how to discipline and
obey their parents in their household and also in school by teachers as their second parents. Through
that journey, children learn that there are consequences to the bad actions they do. If they are late in
school, they get detention or the school calls the parents, if they have a missing assignment, detention
awaits. Moving on to repressive ideological state apparatuses. Repressive ideological state
apparatuses, on the other hand, refer to coercive institutions such as courts, police, and prisons that
utilize physical force to force individuals to adhere to society's rules and norms. In this context, it
states that if an individual does something out of the ordinary, for example, kill someone, do drugs,
etc., their freedom is immediately taken away and will go to jail for life or depending on the crime
committed. In conclusion, both apparatuses serve its purpose by making sure that people learn how to
discipline others also themselves, and for people to be held accountable for their mistakes in the
society, the court and justice system exists.
When it comes to data collection and analysis, quantitative research is concerned with numbers and
figures, whereas qualitative research is concerned with words and meanings. Both are necessary for
acquiring various types of information. Numbers and graphs are used to express quantitative research.
It is used to validate or test hypotheses and assumptions. This research method can be used to develop
generalizable facts about a subject. Experiments, observations recorded as numbers, and surveys with
closed-ended questions are examples of common quantitative approaches. Words are used to express
qualitative research. It is utilized to comprehend ideas, thoughts, or experiences. This sort of study
allows you to gain in-depth knowledge about issues that are not generally known. Interviews with
open-ended inquiries, observations recorded in words, and literature studies that investigate concepts
and theories are all common qualitative approaches. The following terms said would determine to
help you whether on what to use, either qualitative or quantitative. If you want to confirm or test
anything, conduct quantitative research (a theory or hypothesis). If you want to learn more about
anything, conduct qualitative research (concepts, and experiences). You can use a qualitative,
quantitative, or mixed methodologies approach to most research issues.

The Magna Carta for Philippine Internet Freedom (MCPIF) was drafted to abolish the previously
enacted Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10175). As a reformation of Republic Act
10175, Congresswoman Kimi Cojuangco introduced House Bill No. 1086 and Senator Miriam
Defensor Santiago introduced Senate Bill No. 53. MCPIF was the Philippines' first ever crowdsourced
law, with thousands of Filipinos participating via Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail conversations. This
emphasized democracy among citizens in their right to information freedom, increased wisdom
among the youth, and demonstrated a drive for innovation and change in relation to the Internet. It
promotes the knowledge and understanding that people's rights, the country's constitution, and
international laws should be treated equally both offline and online. The MCPIF defends and supports
citizens' freedom to freely express themselves on the internet. This measure also grants citizens the
right to universal internet access, however an individual's access would be terminated if he or she
commits a crime online. The bill also protects the privacy of data and networks using codes and
mathematical procedures, granting the right to privacy. It also affirms, subject to certain conditions,
the fair use of borrowed or downloaded content offline. The task force will be made up of specialists
in hacking, cybercrime, and human trafficking, all of which will have specialized knowledge.

Filipino sa Piling Larangan (Akademik)

Buod
magpakasal at maging isa habangbuhay.
