My name is Monserrat Martinez Cabanillas.

Actually, there are many ways to write the name

Monserrat but according to me the original should be
Montserrat. Montserrat is a feminine given name of
Catalan origin. Its meaning is "serrated mountain", for
the shape of the mountain of Montserrat. It comes
from the Virgin of Montserrat, Marian invocation
venerated in the Monastery of Montserrat.
The name I always wanted to have was Sofia, since it makes me
a very nice name for women.
My feelings towards my name are beautiful, before I did not like
my name at all that I even cried, I told my mom to change it, but
today I like it a lot since most people tell me that it is a very nice
and elegant name, and that raises my self-esteem a lot.
The nicknames I would have would be Mave since it is a
combination of the meaning of my name, by the "virgin
Montserrat", something had to do with Mary but I don’t
remember, then that is why I would start my nickname with “Ma"
and the "ve" would be by "venerated" in the Monastery of
Montserrat.
My mom was the person who chose my name, that name was
chosen because she used to have a friend who was called that and
she liked that name very much so she decided to name me that
way.
