Soft Robotics English Presentation

This document discusses soft robotics. It defines soft robotics as constructing robots from highly compliant materials similar to living organisms. It describes three control methods for soft robots: using electric fields with dielectric elastomer actuators, using thermal changes with shape memory polymers, and using pressure differences with pneumatic artificial muscles. It provides examples of applications for soft robots such as exosuits for rehabilitation and surgical assistance due to their shape changing properties. It poses questions about potential limiting factors of soft robotics and whether they could be trusted in medical applications.

What is a soft robotics ?
Definition:
Soft Robotics is the specific subfield of robotics dealing with
constructing robots from highly compliant materials, similar to those
found in living organisms.

Uses and applications

Exosuits
Soft robots may also be used for the creation of flexible
exosuits, for rehabilitation of patients

Surgical assistance
Soft robots can be made to assist surgeries due to their shape
changing properties.
