The Human’s Concealed Truth

In our generation today, technology is rapidly changing. It upgrades day by day as humans are
fond of discovering things that will make more life easier. From telephones to smartphones,
from tools, to machine to automation. We use these mediums in a form of interactions,
negotiations , etc. We can communicate easily throughout the globe and that makes our life
more convenient.

I, myself, personally depend on technology like gadgets. I wake up every morning and
immediately look for my cell phone to check my social media status and updates, I usually do
this from time to time. When I’m bored, gadgets are my remedy and that’s my daily routine. I
think I can’t live my life without it because I’m so dependent on it. I can live a day without having
someone to talk to, but with a device on me. And that became a problem, I lost interest in
exploring what the real world could offer. I prefer my day, staying in my room rather than being
outside and interacting with others. My friends keep saying that why I changed, from being
enthusiastic to apathetic, because I’m always staying in the house. They think that way but
actually I’m not. I’m having fun just simply watching videos, sometimes interacting with some
acquaintances and doing my online classes. Technology is indeed helpful in our daily lives but in
my case, sometimes I wasted my whole day just paying attention to my gadgets. Instead of
doing my homework first, I tend to say “later”. I put aside my household chores first and my
father always scolds me because I prioritized gadgets over my daily jobs as a daughter.
Technology makes me so addicted to it that I can’t get over it. And that’s the disadvantage of
technology when you lose control to use it. You tend to sacrifice houseworks, academics, proper
conversation and most importantly your interest to self-reflect.

People rely on technology. They forget that virtual communication is a must. Face to face
conversations are significant and need to be highlighted. When should we give importance to
actual communication, if we lose the ability to speak?.

When we go to restaurants we take pictures first rather than pray. We give more importance to
the likes and reactions that we gain from social media than to thank the Lord. Kids who are even
better at playing online games than listening to the teacher. Others are more concerned with
how to rank their hero on mobile legends than to rank in school. They get angry and swear
when the internet connection is slow. And admit it or not, I’m right. All what I said is so relatable
especially with the teenagers.

Does technology really change humans?, or the other way around. Should everyone blame
technology?. Is it technology's fault at all?, I wonder now. If technology is rampant nowadays,
how about for the future generations?. How can they survive the excessive growth of the
technology?. Technology is such a great advancement, it just needs to be used properly.
