Educ 5 - Module 3 Activities

The document summarizes Kristal E. Caberio's responses to activities about learning styles and multiple intelligences from an education course. It includes her answers to questions about how she best learns, recalls information, concentrates, and solves problems. Her responses indicate a preference for interactive learning, visualization, and recalling information repeatedly. The document also includes her completion of a table distinguishing left and right brain functions and her descriptions of teaching activities and multiple intelligences. In concluding assessments, she identifies her learning style as auditory and her dominant intelligence as verbal/linguistic.

EVALUATE: ASSESSING MY KNOWLEDGE ON THE MODULE

A. Activity 4:
Instruction: Answer the questions/statements briefly.

1. Why is it important for teachers to know the different learning styles of learners or their multiple
intelligences?
By applying multiple intelligence theories in the classroom, educators take into account the
different types of learners they may have in their classes, enhance all types of intelligence for
each student, and ultimately allows an individual learning process that allows each learner to
become him or she uses certain skills to demonstrate learning. Presenting a topic using the theory
of multiple intelligence, which is learning information using a variety of methods and tools can
have a very positive impact on a student's learning experience. Including role-playing,
collaboration, pictorial puzzles, or excursions not only enables different types of learners, but also
enables a learning experience that deepens each individual's understanding of the topic.

2. Name at least (5) learning activities conducted by your teachers in their classes (as you are able to
remember) relevant to learning/thinking styles or multiple intelligences and DESCRIBE how
those learning activities were conducted.
 Visual or Spatial Intelligence (Picture Smart)
Sometimes in our oral recitation, our teacher only just shows us a picture and we are
instructed to identify it or arrange it orderly according to its arrangements and we have
only 1min to do it.
 Verbal/Linguistic (Word Smart)
Sometimes in our activity there’s only words stated and we have to expound it by giving
definition in our own understanding or used it in a sentence.
 Intrapersonal (Self Smart)
Most of the time in our discussion, our teacher added his/her experience for us to easily
relate with the lesson and for us to get encouraged to participate as all have experience
too.
 Interpersonal (People Smart)
Our teacher always remind us to our-to-dos where it get us interested to work on as we
are in observed by him/her.
 Existential (Spirit Smart)
We have this very down to earth creative teacher that always feels us the connection of
the world by stating the hidden beauty of living things that us people can make possible
to the world as our lives has a purpose in our living.
B. Post Assessment. Answer the question/statement briefly.

1. In your own words, describe the different multiple intelligences.

 Visual or Spatial Intelligence (Picture Smart)
This intelligence could be described as being “Picture Smart.” People who are strong in
this ability tend to think in pictures rather than words. You can visualize the solution to
your problem, see the answers to your questions, and understand the dimensions of
possible scenarios.

 Verbal/Linguistic (Word Smart)

Verbal-linguistic students love words and use it as their primary idea and solution. They
are excellent writers, speakers, or both. They use words to persuade, discuss, entertain,
and / or teach.
 Mathematical/Logical (Number or Logic Smart)
Logic mathematics students like to work with numbers. You can easily interpret the data
and analyze abstract patterns. You have strong thinking skills and are good at chess and
computer programming. You think in terms of cause and effect.

 Bodily/Kinesthetic (Body Smart)

Students with physical kinesthetics are very aware of the world through touch and
movement. There is a special harmony between your body and your mind. You can
control their body with elegance, skill, and athleticism.

 Musical (Music Smart)

Music students think, feel, and process information primarily through sound. You have
an excellent ability to perceive, compose, and / or play music. Musically wise people are
always listening to the notes in their heads.

 Intrapersonal (Self Smart)

People with strong personal intelligence are deeply aware of their feelings, thoughts and
goals. Students with this intelligence usually take time alone to process and design.

 Interpersonal (People Smart)

Students with strong interpersonal intelligence have the natural ability to interact, relate
to, and interact with others. They are good leaders. They use what they have learned
about others to negotiate, persuade, and obtain information. You enjoy interacting with
others and usually have a lot of friends.

 Naturalist (Nature Smart)

This intelligence is related to one's natural interest in the environment. These people
enjoy being in nature and want to protect them from environmental pollution. Students
with strong naturalistic intelligence can easily identify and classify plants, animals and
rocks.

 Existential (Spirit Smart

Learn while looking at the "big picture". In this area, we ask questions such as "Why are
you here?" And "What is my role in this world?" This intelligence seeks a connection to
true understanding and the application of new knowledge.
2. What is your thinking/learning style? What are your dominant multiple intelligences?
Observing myself like verbal lectures and talk sessions, I would definitely describe my
learning style that I am an auditory learner because there I easily catch up everything along
with the lesson that I remember what I heard and I love to share it to everyone. Also, my
dominant multiple intelligence is Verbal/Linguistic most people notice that I’m good in
explaining that I always hit the idea or even to persuading something and I guess that’s the
smart side of me.
