identify the growing edge of your own development.

mental assumptions on how you interpret the world
around you?

Quadrant 2: Universal Awareness


Skill 6: Awareness of interconnectedness of life: “What relationships and processes connect us
in living systems?

Skill 7: Awareness of worldviews of others: “How do others think, feel, believe, and live?”

Skill 8: Breadth of time perception: “How can I understand what is going on from different time
scales and historical perspectives?”

Skill 9: Awareness of limitations/power of human perception: “How are my sensory


perceptions subject to distortion or misrepresentation?”

Skill 10: Awareness of spiritual laws: “What fundamental and lawful spiritual principles seem to
apply to our lives and our world?”

Skill 11: Experience of transcendent oneness: “What moments of awe, wonder, oneness with
the universe, or non-ordinary consciousness have I experienced?”

Quadrant 2: Universal Awareness
Consider your current skill development is low (L), medium (M) or high (H). This can help you

Quadrant 3: Self/self-Mastery
Skill 12: Commitment to spiritual growth: “Do I make spiritual development a high priority in my
life and demonstrate it by dedicating time and energy to its pursuit?”

Skill 13: Keeping Higher Self in charge: “Do I consistently activate my Higher Self through
conscious intention?”

Skill 14: Living your purpose and values: “Do I make values-driven, purpose-driven choices,
even when no one is around to know about it?”

Skill 15: Sustaining your faith: “Am I able to sustain my faith in my path during times of
difficulty, despair, fear, and uncertainty? Am I able to seek help and guidance when I need it?”

Skill 16: Seeking guidance from Higher Self: “Am I able to open patiently to the wisdom and
compassion within me and trust it to guide me?”

Consider your current skill development is low (L), medium (M) or high (H). This can help you
identify the growing edge of your own development.

12. Commitment to I am willing to learn about spiritual topics from many
Spiritual Growth sources. I commit time and energy to my own
spiritual growth
13. Keeping Higher I am able to shift intentionally from listening to the
Self in Charge voice of my ego to listening to my Higher Self. My
Higher Self voice is clear and is the primary voice I
hear.
14. Living Your My purpose and values are aligned with my Higher
Purpose and Values Self. My actions, decisions, and goals are aligned
with my higher purpose and values.
15. Sustaining Faith I trust that there is a wise and loving nature to Life/
the universe/all that is. I maintain an attitude of
gratitude even when faced with difficulties.
16. Seeking I actively seek guidance from sources beyond my
Guidance from own logic or ego. This includes seeking the wisdom
Higher Self of people I respect, of great teachers/writings, and
from my Higher Self or Higher Power.

Quadrant 4: Social Master/Spiritual Presence
Skill 17: Being a wise and effective teacher/mentor of spiritual principles: “So I demonstrate—
through my being—the change I and others desire to experience in myself and the world?”

Skill 18: Being a wise and effective leader/change agent: “Do I help others navigate through
changes in a way that results in good solutions, less stress and grieving, more healthy
outcomes?”

Skill 19: Making compassionate and wise decisions: “Do I allow my inner wisdom and
compassion and my understanding of spiritual principles guide my thoughts, words, and
actions?”

Skill 20: Being a calming, healing presence: “Can I release my attachment to certain outcomes,
my judgments, and my need to control the situation so that I can offer calm and healing?

Skill 21: Being aligned with the ebb and flow of life: “Am I aware of the energy flows and
temporal rhythms in my body, in others, and in life itself, and am I able to attune with this
energy?”

Quadrant 4: Social Mastery/Spiritual Presence

17. Being a Wise and I enjoy teaching about spiritual principles. I do that
Effective Teacher/ through walking my talk and awakening the learner
Mentor of Spiritual in other people.
Principles
18. Being a Wise and I can see and feel the perspectives of all the parties
Effective Leader/ involved in a change. I am able to release my need
Change Agent to control or have things my way.
19. Making I am compassionate toward my own mistakes as
Compassionate and well as those made by others. I know how to set
Wise Decisions boundaries when I need to do so.
20. Being a Calming, Other people feel calmer in my presence
Healing, Presence
21. Being Aligned I instinctively know what is trying to come into
with the Ebb and form, and I can apply the right amount of action
Flow of Life when it is needed to assist the process.
Notes:

This kind of “self-appraisal” provides a kind of map that can help us discover areas of potential
growth, where we might direct our attention, energy, and guidance from teachers and spiritual
friends. Spiritual training such as this is nurtured in the context of a spiritual community, where
others share this intention for waking up and growing up.
