Emotions Cube Game

{roll, tally, & graph skills}

By Kelly and Kim’s Kreations

Our Emotions Cube Game is a fun math activity that will help your students practice making tally marks,
graphing data they have gathered, and interpreting data from their graph also. Cube games are a fun
way to practice a variety of math skills through cooperative learning! We have included a cube
template, roll and record data sheets, and graphs with questions about the data. Children will have fun
playing this fun math game while also identifying common emotions we all have. We hope your children
will have fun playing this emotions-themed math game together!

This product aligns with the following Common Core math standards:
K.CC.3, K.CC.4, K.CC.5, K.CC.6, K.MD.2, K.MD.3, K.OA.1, 1.MD.4, 2.MD.10
Directions:

Cube Template - page 4

Roll and Record Data Sheet (2 on a page) - page 5
Graph with Questions - pages 6 through 8

Print, laminate, and cut apart the number of cubes you wish to use with your students. Fold the template
on the dotted lines and then tape together to make a cube to roll like a die. We like to include two to
four students in a group. Print a copy of the tally sheet and graphs for your files. Reproduce the graph
that is best for your students. Children will take turns rolling the cube and tallying each picture that is
rolled on their sheet. After taking several turns each, children should work together to check their tally
marks together and write the numeral that shows how many times they rolled each picture. Children will
then transfer their tally information onto the bar graph to show their data in a new way. Children will
then analyze their data on their bar graph by answering the questions listed below. (One differentiated
graph does not contain questions, but questions about more/less, how many were rolled of each, etc.
can just be discussed as a group.)
